A: First, remove the original eyepiece to install the Leica Correction Lens M (-2.0 Diopter) on compatible cameras. This correction lens has a screw-on attachment and is compatible with select Leica M cameras, including the M (Typ 240), M9, M8, M7, and older cameras.

A: The frame has the width of two 4 x 5.65'' filter frames. You will need at least a 2 stage matte box to use this frame.

I pretty much keep this inside my Matte box at all times when shooting exteriors. You're able to dial in the pola effect to your liking. 5

I suspected that I was having focusing issues with my M7 and several Leica lens. It was hard for me to find the correct focus with normal eyesight or glasses and taking longer than necessary to fine tune it. I then found out that I could get a diopter lens from Leica to help with my focusing. On the web I found out from a optometrist that I could determine the diopter value from my eye glass prescription by looking at the Sphere value and use that number for the value of the diopter needed to order. My Sphere value was +1.00 so I ordered that value Diopter. The difference was immediate and incredible. Now I have no problem focusing very fast and very accurately. Well worth the price. With the usual Leica quality lens. 5

I had my ophthalmology friend help me figure out the right strength. Leica M9 comes with a finder that is -0.5. So for my right eye correction I needed to get -1.0 (since my total right eye correction is -1.5). The diopter screws perfectly into the view finder and now my focusing is immensely improved. The piece is slick, you do not know it is there if look at your camera. Great Leica optics, punishing Leica price. I love the piece. 5

This was just what the doctor ordered...figuratively speaking, of course. I'm a bit near sighted and need glasses to see at a distance but the standard eye piece with the Leica M2 wasn't bringing things into proper focus. After a little research I surmised what I needed was a +1 diopter. It was spot on and now things can be brought into focus quicker and more sure than before. A proper diopter is highly recommended for rangefinder accuracy and this was it. It screwed right in and crystal clear. 5
