Q: 6. I am interested in trying this product, and just want to clarify how you should set your white balance IN camera while using the cube. Am I to understand correctly that you can just have your camera set to auto white balance (as opposed to setting a custom one off of a grey card) while taking a reference photo with the cube in it, and then just making the WB adjustments, etc. in your RAW post processing? A: Yes, this is correct - the white balance adjustments made from using the Datacolor SpyderCUBE RAW Calibration tool are done in RAW post processing, and you simply set your camera to auto white balance.

Q: 7. Can this be used to calibrate TVs as well?

A: This would not work with TV's as its software based, the Datacolor SpyderX requires a computer.connection.

[2.475 lb] I was recently thinking about upgrading from my Spyder 4 Elite when I found the kit deal on the B&H website. I have taken some shots and used the various tools in the kit and have found them to be very useful. The cube is very helpful in setting my white balance correctly. I haven't quite figured out the color checker yet but it seems to be helpful in correcting my photo colors. The Spyder X was simple and easy to use and my dual monitors look great. 5

[2.475 lb] Wow. I have a BenQ that I color calibrated with an earlier Spyder, but when I calibrated with the SpyderX, the difference was pretty huge. Glad I bought it and won't process without it. 5

[2.475 lb] I had the Spyder 3 and 5 Elite and can say that this runs through the calibration process MUCH faster. It has a larger optical sensor on it so it will definitely be more accurate than the previous models. Would recommend. 5

[2.475 lb] I bought this for my iMac and I'm very pleased with it, it's simple to use and works well. The software download and installation all went smoothly and the calibration process is quick. The monitor definitely looks better after calibration. My only niggle is that the room light measurement is returned as either very high or very low, there doesn't seem to be a level of background light that the unit regards as being normal. Most of my photography is underwater so the SpyderCUBE exposure calibration tool and SpyderCHECKR 24 Color Chart probably won't get a whole lot of use but the bundle was too good a price to leave it behind. From a brief test with my Nikon D300 the SpyderCUBE gives a useful sanity check on white balance, exposure, contrast and black point quickly and easily. Likewise the SpyderCHECKR provides calibration for the camera and the software integrates easily into Lightroom and Photoshop. 5

[2.475 lb] I subscribe for Today’s Deal and found this On Sale, for a price better than the SpyderX Elite alone! Plus, I get the Spyder Cube and a sturdy case to pack it in. I upgraded from the Spyder5 Pro. Calibrating the monitors is faster. Since this is the SpyderX Elite, I was able to closely match my computer monitor to my desktop monitor. I am still learning about this part. The steps for generating profiles is different, as compared with the Spyder5 Pro, but I used the instructions from Datacolor’s website to guide me through. Complements go to the those who package this at B & H Photo and Video. It was packaged well! It came through without any bumps or starches. 5
