Q: 2. Can this be used to extend my display by plugging into the USB C port but having an HDMI output, which I can then use in conjunction with the HDMI port on my NUC?

[1x PCIe 3.0 x16] Great dock with just the ports that I need. Loving the power switch - something all the other docks lack that is desperately needed (Thank you)

[Thunderbolt 3] I'm one of the users who is eagerly awaiting delivery of a new M1Max-based MacBook Pro, but am using this dock with a 2017 MBP as a way to test it. So far, it's working exactly as expected (flawlessly in all respects). Initially, the new MBP will replace the iMac that is my video editing workhorse (using all Adobe Creative Cloud applications).

The iMac has well over 100TB of fast RAID storage and an LTO archive system connected via Thunderbolt 2.

If necessary, I will update this review after using the dock for a week, or two, with the new system...

[Desktop] This is one of the best hubs for my Mac Mini! I am thoroughly impressed and satisfied!

[1x PCIe 3.0 x16] If you have a bunch of SSDs and want to attach to your Mac, this is the way to go. It's active and doesn't hinder performance of your drives.
Easy setup, comes with Thunderbolt cable so it's all ready to go out the box.

[1x PCIe 3.0 x16] It's a great hub, it maintains the same speed as if it were not.

[Thunderbolt 3] I got this to connect my 2020 MBP to a monitor and peripherals so I could eliminate all the side USB-C adaptors.
Great plug and play. Was up and running in only a few minutes. Appreciated that needed cables were included. The included usb-c cable to connect my MBP is rather short for my set up but easily replaced with a longer one.

[Desktop] The Echo 11 performs as advertised and facilitates connection of my M1 Max MacBook Pro to peripherals and my network devices. I would have liked to see a display port output; it is necessary to use one of the thunderbolt 4 ports for the external display cable.

[1x PCIe 3.0 x16] I was a little wary of spending this much on a dock, but it has been a great performer!

I'm use it for as the central hub for my 16 M1 Max :
    2x 4k 60hz 32" BenQs over usb-c to DisplayPort,
    USB-C 10G Sonnet ethernet adapter
    usb 3 ssd sata reader
Excellon 10 port powered 10 port usb 3 hub (running: keyboard, timemachine, resolve dongle, sd card multi-reader reader, a couple usb chargers)

Only issue I had was having to take the ssd sata reader off the usb hub and put it on a dedicated dock port-connection wasn't solid to the Mac. Fixed when it was moved to the dock.

I run my CFexpress card reader and Samsung T7 on one of the other Mbp thunderbolt ports when needed.

Super easy to plug this in to my Mac everyday, and when I'm not running a heavy workload it even charges the battery without the charger MagSafe connected.

[Desktop] got it to replace a long succession of usb-c TH hubs, simply robust, no BS, works great and represents a maturity in this sort of thing
Since 2018 I have tried all sorts of hubs for my macbook pros and macbook airs and they have all flaked out [I don't know...maybe since they ran hot and slowly cooked their components, or bad design or what, but Sonnet and CalDigit seem to be like the Grass Valley
    workhorses of yesteryear
it has a flat stable shape that gives it solid attachment

[1x 6+2-Pin] I use a TB hub to connect a couple JBOD enclosures and a display to my Mac Studio. I was having annoying disk disappearing issues with the Elements TB4 hub and replaced it with this Sonnet. It may be a little slower but has been solid/reliable and doesn't run nearly as hot.
