The silver Samyang 300mm f/6.3 Lens for Fujifilm X Mountis a mirror lens designed specifically for use on Fujifilm X mount cameras. The lens' Cassegrain design enables it to achieve a 450mm 35mm-equivalent focal length perspective within a compact and lightweight lens design that is significantly smaller than a traditional 300mm lens. It features a fixed f/6.3 aperture and manually focuses as closely as 2.95'.

One extra-low dispersion element and the inherent mirror construction of the lens work to eliminate chromatic aberrations while providing notable image sharpness and clarity. Furthermore, the UMC (Ultra Multi Coated) coating has been applied to reduce surface reflections, lens flare and ghosting while also contributing to improved overall contrast.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this use with tel converter?

A: Hi, teleconverters work best with lenses with a maximum aperture of f/2.8; this lens has a maximum aperture of f/6.3, so, although you could mount the lens to a teleconverter, there would be no autofocus or auto exposure.

Q: 2. Are there front filter threads , and if so so what size are they? Images appear to show threading, but it could be non-standard filter threads.

A: Yes you are correct, those are front filter threads. The front thread diameter is a standard 58mm size, so any lens caps or filters made for 58mm diameters will be compatible.

Q: 3. Is this lenses all manual (focus and iris)? Can it be used with BlackMagic 2.5k mount MFT?

A: The BlackMagic Cinema MFT mount camera requires use of manual focus and manually adjustable aperture lenses. The silver Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens will mount on the camera but will not allow you to adjust the aperture of the lens as this lens has a fixed aperture of f6.3. The benefit of the camera using the MFT mount is the availability of adapters which will allow one to mount various manual focus/manual aperture lenses to the camera.

Q: 4. I have a Canon M50 and mount this lens on it with the shooting set to M, but no response in shooting, why?

A: You would need to set the camera in the Menu in the Custom Functions section to shoot without a lens. The function is called Release shutter w/o lens, it needs to be set to enable.

Q: 5. I have mounted this lens for Canon M on to my Canon M50 and set the shooting mode to M, but no response in shooting, why?

A: You would need to set the camera in the Menu in the Custom Functions section to shoot without a lens. The function is called Release shutter w/o lens, it needs to be set to enable.

Q: 6. Will this work with an extender such as my KENKO C-AF1 1.5X DG?

A: I would not recommend this approach. Further, I would advise that the Canon 75-300mm lens may be a more desirable option, as it is more affordable, has autofocus, a faster aperture, and can be used with a teleconverter: http://bhpho.to/1nuVUxF

Q: 7. Hi is it work with sony full frame like a7 iii ? Or is it need adapter?

A: The Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens for Sony E Mount is designed for the Sony E-mount used on the Sony Alpha a7 III Mirrorless Digital Camera. No adapter is designed to connect the lens to the camera. However, do note that the Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens for Sony E Mount is designed for the smaller APS-C sensor. As such, you would need to use the APS-C Crop Mode when using this lens on your camera. You can access this setting by going to the MENU on your camera and going to [Camera Settings 1] → [APSC/Super 35mm] → [APS-C S35 Shoot: Manual] and [ON].

Q: 8. Hello - Will this lens fit a Fujifilm X-M1 ?

A: Yes. As long as you buy the Fuji version.

Q: 9. Is this lenses all manual (focus and iris)? Can it be used with BlackMagic 2.5k mount MFT?

A: The BlackMagic Cinema MFT mount camera requires use of manual focus and manually adjustable aperture lenses. The silver Samyang Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens will mount on the camera but will not allow you to adjust the aperture of the lens as this lens has a fixed aperture of f6.3. The benefit of the camera using the MFT mount is the availability of adapters which will allow one to mount various manual focus/manual aperture lenses to the camera.

Q: 10. Is this lenses all manual (focus and iris)? Can it be used with BlackMagic 2.5k mount MFT?

[f/6.3] For Micro Four Thirds cameras, you cannot beat the value of this lens for the price. There are no other native format lenses in this focal length. This lens is part of my collection of manual focus fast prime lenses. I have owned used legacy manual lenses (e.g., Canon, Nikon) that needed an adapter, and fast lenses ( f/2) get to be expensive. This Samyang (same as Rokinon) gives you at least one more stop, and sharp across the frame even wide open at f/1.4. I also had a 4/3 version of this lens that I sold because of the expense of the adapter. I like that this lens is all in one with no need for an adapter. Because this lens is made in many versions for different mounts, this MFT version is a bit on the long side, but that is the trade off for not needing an adapter. Another advantage on MFT is that this lens was designed to cover full frame, which, on MFT, provides improved sharpness at the edges for brighter apertures. This lens is well made - mostly metal and glass. The quality of the front cap and hood have been improved compared to the earlier one I owned. It is on the big and heavy side, but not much bigger or heavier than my other quality manual focus MFT Voigtlander lenses. This is the trade off for precision fast manual lenses. The controls (focus and aperture) are precise and easy to use. I noticed on this lens, just like the earlier one I owned, that the alignment of the eight aperture blades at smaller apertures is not all that symmetrical, but it does not appear to affect photos.

[7.1 x 5.4 x 4"] My first impression upon unpacking this lens was to realize how small and light it is. Then I was impressed by how smooth the focusing ring was, without stickiness or backlash, a must for this kind of lens. Once I got enough practice focusing with it, I was impressed with its sharpness. Make no mistake, you will need practice: depth of field is quite short and focusing is a real exercise in finesse. But once you get there, the results are quite rewarding. The weakest point of this lens is its apparent vignetting, but if this bothers you, it is easily fixed using image processing software.

[APS-C] I bought this lens after doing a ton of research. I was not disappointed. I got some great pictures inside mammoth cave and will be trying to capture some night sky pics in the Badlands soon. Keep in mind that it is all manual, but if you are even slightly familiar with how to manually operate your camera, you'll be able to get great low light pictures.

[7.1 x 5.4 x 4"] This lens was purchased with the intention of taking indoor/astrophotography/nightscape shots. Not only is this lens worth the money, but the value that you get is unparalleled. The quality of this lens could easily command double the price. Nighttime 2.8 is outstanding clarity and daytime shots are even better. Get this lens!
