Q: 2. Can I use an Iphone 5s with this?

A: You would need something to mate up with the threaded attachment on the stabilizer. I think something like that is available. A word of caution.... I'm not happy with this so-called stabilizer. As far as I'm concerned, it was a waste of my money. I have tried and tried to balance it with the weights and use it, never has performed as I thought it would.

Q: 3. What does half-normal patchbay operation refer to?

A: In a normalled patch bay, each set of jacks vertically have an internal connection between them. Top is generally the output of a device, bottom being an input. When a cable is inserted into either jack the connection is broken and signal routed through the cable elsewhere. A half normalled bay allows you to insert a cable into the top jack without breaking the internal connection similar to using a Y-Cable. The signal will then be routed internally to its normal destination as well as the inserted patch cables destination.

Q: 4. Will it down convert two separate 6G SDI inputs into two separate 3G SDI outputs? What about four to four of the same scenario?

A: No, the AJA 12GM 12G-SDI to/from SDI Muxer/DeMuxer reclocks signals and does not convert down or up. You will need an AJA UDC Up/Down/Cross Converter which handles one signal at a time.

Q: 5. can this be configured as a 4x4 distro amp to simiply pass through each signal in a 4x camera setup to extend max cable length?

A: The AJA 12GM 12G-SDI to/from SDI Muxer/DeMuxer would be a very expensive distribution box. Instead use the Blackmagic Design Mini Converter SDI Distribution, for $165.00.

Q: 6. Can this unit be used with non digital audio signal?

A: It cannot AES/EBU Digital Audio only.

[7.53 lb] When running solo as a broadcaster, engineer and doing live broadcasts; one needs the assurances of minimal disruption to services. Unlike HDMI cables, this gamble is worth the investment. Fits nice and snug and delivers a perfect picture! 5

[7.53 lb] I initially bought the Blackmagic 5 video assistant monitor, but I did not see that the type of SDI connector is mini. So then I used it with this cable and it worked perfect. This connector is called MICRO BNC. 5
