A: The surface is fairly durable. I photograph ceramic sculpture so the work will scratch the backdrop but it is very easy to fix with photoshop. The backdrop come in a heavy weight cardboard tube with plastic end caps which works well for storage.

A: It is heavy. It weighs about 50 lbs. on the roll. But it is possible for an average person to lift and move it. I was able to unbox it & put it up on my background stand by myself without any assistance. This is the best background I've ever purchased. Tough, durable, easy to clean. It's worth twice the price, in my opinion. I would buy another one in a heart beat! For me ...no more paper, no more muslin. And it's thick too. Very sturdy material.
