Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this 77 mm diopter benefit my Fujinon 16-55 zoom with a 77 mm thread?

A: The NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings offers a diopter strength up to +5 stops. If you are looking to use your FUJIFILM XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR Lens as a macro lens, the NiSi Close-Up ring will be an excellent choice when you zoom the lens to 55mm.

Q: 2. Does this filter holder work with the sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens?

A: No, you would need a larger filter and a specific filter holder for the new 12-24mm 2.8 lens. There is no filter holder available yet for this lens, as it is brand new. Keep checking our website for updates.

Q: 3. Can this filter be used on the Canon RF 100-500L lens?

A: Yes, you can thread- in NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens to Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM Lens. The lens would hunt for focus, I would recomend switching to manual focus.

Q: 4. What is the difference between "NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II" and "NiSi MC Close-Up Lens 77mm PRO II"?

A: The NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings is the newer version. The main difference between that and the Pro model which is older and is discontinued is the NC version has a Nano Coating.

Q: 5. The spec says +5 diopter but the NiSi website says 3x for the 77mm?

A: As per NISI, the 77mm Close-Up lens has a +3 diopter strength.

Q: 6. Will this adapter work with the 67ii lenses as well? Would this work with the new pentax K-3?

A: Yes, this adapter will work with the 67ii lenses as well, since they are the same 6x7 bayonet mount. This adapter will work on the K3, as well as all other cameras with the Pentax K mount.

Q: 7. Will the sensor still 'see' the laser and its effects? I want to record a 5mW laser being 'split' by a prism.

A: You will unlikely see the laser effect when using the Kase Wolverine Magnetic 82mm Anti-Laser Protective Filter with Adapter Ring. From the information that we have, this filter is needed for lasers that are 10 watts or higher. You do not need this filter when using a 5-milliwatt laser unless it is pointed directly at the camera.

Q: 8. On an MIcro Four Thirds camera would the minimum focal length be 35mm or still the stated 70mm?

A: The usable focal lengths of 70-300mm are based on a full frame sensor.

Q: 9. can I use the 77mm lens on a 58mm with a step up ring?

A: Yes, the Sensei PRO 58-77mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, B&H # SESURPA5877, would be compatible for use with the NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings.

Q: 10. Using only this filter and with Revolution inline ring installed, will you see vignetting on an Canon 15-35mm RF L 2.8 lens?

A: You will probably not get vignetting with the Kase Magnetic ND64 (6-Stop) CPL Filter (82mm) and inlaid adapter since the inlaid adapter allows the filter to stay very close to the lens. Only way to know for sure is to try it out though.

[67 mm to 82 mm] I know it's a bit expensive for what it is but being made of brass really makes a difference. I feel confident in my ability to take on/off easily without binding. Highly recommended.

[67 mm to 82 mm] You might think you can get away with a $10 step-up ring... but don't. Get this one. You don't want to goof around with cheaply made rings that won't properly screw or unscrew from your $$$$ lenses.

[Aluminum] This step-up ring lets me use my PolarPro VND filter with my a7C's kit lens and it's tiny 40.5mm filter threads, with a little help from an additional Heliopan 40.5-67mm step-up ring. Premium, matt-black brass with precision threads. Same quality as PolarPro's filter, so it's great!
