This Kase Wolverine 82mm IR 720 Infrared Filter Magnetic Adapterfrom Kase Wolverine 82mm IR 720 Infrared Filter Magnetic Adaptercan be used for infrared photography with digital cameras and specialized infrared film. This nearly opaque filter blocks all visible light up to 720nm and lets images of how a subject reflects or transmits infrared light to be captured. It is equivalent to a Wratten 89b filter that allows some visible light to pass through for false color rendering, or high contrast rendering in black & white applications.

This filter is made of optical glass with Nano multicoating to reduce flare and optimize light transmission. The coating also provides a protective surface that allows water to bead up for easy cleaning, and also resists scratches and abrasions. The 82mm magnetic filter ring includes a magnetic adapter ring that threads onto the 82mm front filter ring of a lens and allows Wolverine 82mm non-threaded magnetic filters to be held securely in place.

[Aluminum] It's a small thin adapter ring that gives Kase magnetic filters something to stick to. A warning, though: be sure the filters are fully stuck before letting go. The magnetic attraction isn't all that strong unless the filters are fully seated in the adapter. The ring is thin enough that lens shades can still slide over it without problems. It's a nice, convenient system that makes filter usage easy and quick.

[0.195 lb] When I tried to use my magnetic filters on one of my lenses I realized they wouldn't fit (designed for 77mm). B&H had the adapter I needed at a great price and got it to me quickly. 100% satisfied.

[Glass] Most of my lenses are 67mm so it is essential to have an adapter on each of the lenses so I can switch lenses and not have to unscrew the magnetic adapter and put it onto a new lens but can just pop on one of the magnetic filters. I also got the lens caps for each of the lenses. Kase's magnetic properties on these accessories is pretty darn strong. I don't have to hear about having the filter fall off because the magnets not hard enough.

[Aluminum] Shooting with the A7S3 @12800 ISO almost performs like a converted body for BW photography. I get nice results without slow shutter. Also love that I can use this filter with any lens. It really shines with the Sigma 14 1.8. Great entry point for IR if you have the a7S3. Check the customer images to see a few shot results.
