You can use any type of lighting, but once you drop the cone over your item, it's almost magically illuminated. [Polypropylene] I photograph jewelry with a full frame DSLR camera and have always had to spend a lot of time dealing with the highlights from the glossy surfaces. I stumbled upon one of Karl's videos showing the Light Cone and ordered one after watching it. Best decision I've made in awhile. By putting the cone around the jewelry I wind up with a very beautiful gradient light around the piece without any harsh highlights. It's simple but what a great product. I highly recommend the Light Cone. 5

[3.1 lb] This is a very useful tool for quick, easy lighting of smaller reflective objects. I'd love it if the hole at the small end was a little smaller as the reflection of lens and hole on a shiny object can be tricky. But overall this is a wonderful tool in the right context. 5

[Polypropylene] This item didn't seem very versatile at first, but here's a tip: undo the top three snaps, leaving the lowest snap connected. This opens the top of the seam to allow lower-angle shooting. 5

[3.1 lb] I am grateful that B&H sends it worldwide and lightning fast too but it is not understandable why Karl Taylor does not distribute it in europe directly or a B&H has an outlet here. I have more than tripled the product cost with tax and shipping to austria. Its absolutely insane but it is worth every penny i must add. I would buy so much more from B&H if not for the import tax and shipping. 5

[Polypropylene] When I watched Karl Taylor use this device on YouTube I wondered if it was as good as he made it seem. The answer is Yes. It really works exactly as promised. If you want to photograph shiny objects this makes everything so very easy. Highly recommended. 5
