[0.135 lb] The B+W basic filter is excellent for the price. The brass frame is excellent, with the schott glass, very nice. Texture on the ring makes it very east to put on and take off. B&H has a great price for the filter, with their fast shipping, it was a great buy. 5

[UV] Lens caps are easy to lose. Once lost, your lens is easily scratched. Especially the exterior coatings on the lens. What about actual scratches in the glass. This filter is your lifesaver. Protecting your lens at a fraction of the cost of a new lens. The filter has a metal frame (brass) and will not distort when trying to remove it. A typical plastic frame will distort when trying to remove a stuck filter, making the problem worse. 5
