Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a front thread to attach additional accessories?

A: The 67mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter does have a 67mm front filter thread.

Q: 2. Are there still issues with dust with the draw string versus plastic box?

A: B+W UV-Haze #010 MRC MASTER Filter (67mm) comes inside a drawstring pouch on a seal box. There shouldn't be dust on the filter. However even when the filter is clean we recommend cleaning it consistently.

Q: 3. Because I see the RF 135 f1.8 has convex front lens and it is almost beyond the edge. Want to know if this lens can be mounted?

A: Yes the B+W UV-Haze #010 MRC MASTER Filter (82mm) will fit the Canon RF 135mm f1.8 lens.

Q: 4. Can I use this with Canon 70-200 mm f/2.8 (version III) lens with Hood or can still be able to close the cap?

A: If one uses the B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter with the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 (version III) with the hood, one should still be able to close the cap.

Q: 5. How does this filter compare with the B+W 58mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter? I can't tell the difference from the descriptions.

A: Their are two difference between the B+W 58mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter, and the B+W 58mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter. The XS Pro UV filter features a very thin brass rim to prevent vignetting when using the UV filter on a very wide angle lens. Both filters feature brass rims and the same glass with MRC Multi Coating. The second difference is the the Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters that provides an additional eighth layer over the MRC, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water, and scratch prevention.

Q: 6. This lists the filter as a 010M, but the photo f the filters shows 010. What is the difference?

A: 010M and 010 MRC Nano is the same thing. M stands for multi coating. The filter ring spells it out, instead of having the M after 010. No difference, means the same thing.

Q: 7. Anyone know what's the meaning of "digital" in the rim? Just curious. Obviously it doesn't mean it's only for digital sensors. It's got some computer chips in it maybe?

A: These filters have been developed for digital sensors in the way that light is gathered on them, the filter maximizes how the light falls on the sensor and how each pixel records light.

Q: 8. What's the best way to clean this filter? I recently tried using Giotto's Professional Multi Optical Cleaning Solution with a Lens Cleaning Tissue and it left hideous streaks/residue on the surface. Nothing I did would get rid of the streaks, and in a panic I simply wet my fingers with some tap water, moistened the surface of the filter and gently used another tissue. Streaks/cleanser residue finally disappeared. So, what's up with that? I certainly didn't expect to have such a problem, especially when I bought the cleaning solution through B&H and it had such great reviews. There wasn't any info on the insert included with the filter that specified anything about cleaning recommendations. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A: I am sorry you have had such a difficult time cleaning this filter off. It is possible that the cleaning solution you purchased may not perform well with the particular coatings used on this filter. I personally use a microfiber cleaning cloth, and Zeiss brand cleaning solution on all of my lenses and filters and other optics. The solution is extremely effective and is safe for all photo optics and optical coatings. Combined with a microfiber cloth Ive never had a filter or lens I could not get clean. See the links below for a recommended microfiber cloth and the Zeiss solution:http://bhpho.to/18RsyxNhttp://bhpho.to/1dmUVGV

Q: 9. What is the difference between this filter and the B+W XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter?

A: Optically they are the same but the Master has knurled edges for a better grip. The XS-Pro version is not made anymore and the Master is the replacement.

Q: 10. I want to put this filter on a NIKON 85mm 1.8 G (67mm) . Does any one know if there are any problems reattaching the lens cap? How about the lens hood?

A: There is no issue putting on either while this filter is on the lens.

[Aluminum] These pouches provide convenient protection for small lenses you put in your pocket for a walk about.

[Glass] I carry my camera and lenses in a fairly small bag and these pouches are great for providing a little padding and protection for the finish on my lenses. They are light weight and offer easy access to my lenses when I want to use them. The also take up a lot less space than pouches with round bottom panels when not in use. What's not to like?

[0.14 lb] Love this for long, night exposures. It produces a natural and un-deliberate effect, unlike a diffusion filter. Even on b/w landscapes, it spreads the light out more.

[5.3 x 5 x 0.6"] Congratulations, you've found what you're looking for.

Smooth, de-clicked dial for maximum precision, all metal construction, and built with Min/Max stops to prevent the ugly X a lot of VNDs suffer from. There's also very little (if any) noticeable color shift in the image.

I shot on my Sony a7s classic in the snow on a partly sunny day at ISO 3200 (minimum allowed in video mode) with my 50mm f/1.4 lens wide open and still didn't need to max this filter out. The amount of lighting control this allows for is invaluable. Highly recommended!

[Aluminum] I have several lenses from 7artisans that I love to use on my Fujifilm cameras. This Black Mist is my first filter I have bought from that company. It gives an old-school highlight look with the right light, smoothing the contrast to appear more film-like!
