I should have figured that out when the description states the filter is oversized.

A: The front threads are approximately 81mm on the XS-Pro 77mm Digital ND Vario. While it will not be possible to use the R1-C1 mounted on this filter, the flashes on the R1-C1 separate off the ring and the system comes with stands. You could mount the flashes onto stands and ultimately a tripod and light the subject in this manner, and just use the system without having the flash on the camera.

Because digital sensor are susceptible to the infrared that get through the ND, this helps to keep your blacks from going to a very-hard-to-correct magenta color shift.

A: No this does not. It has stops to make sure one does not go beyond the usable range of the filter.

A: Both optical elements/foils of the circular polarizer are permanently attached, and this is typical with filters that have two elements. The minimum filter factor available when this is installed on your lens is ND3 (1.5-stop).

A: I must admit in a career of photography never needing to clean the inside of a rotating Polarizer. If for some really reason you actually had to clean the inside, that would be a task for a professional camera technician. No user serviceable parts are here.
