Add digital signal processing audio managing, routing, processing, and control to your studio with this 4x4 Audio Digital Sound Processor with Dante from Alfatron. A vast array of technical features helps to simulate the work of an audio engineer with advanced processing modules that include acoustic echo cancellation, noise suppression, and auto mixing. The unit supports Dante and features four analog inputs and four analog outputs as well as four digital inputs and four digital outputs.

High-definition audio sampling and processing, with analog to digital and digital to analog conversion, is available on the input and output of the DSP, boasting a 48 kHz sampling rate and a bit rate of 24 bits. The unit also offers a dynamic range of 110 dB and a maximum level of +24 dBu. Expanders, compressors, AGC (acoustic gain compensation), parametric EQ, feedback suppression, gate, ambient noise compensation, graphic EQ, and delay are among the integrated input and output processing modules, with DSP-based audio management achieved via a connected computer running the GUI software for the DSP hardware models.

DSP configuration and control is facilitated by the Alfatron DSP Controller software, which is a Windows-based application that offers parameter adjustment and peripheral accessory settings of all modules, including RS-232, RS-485, and IP control with user-friendly click-and-drag panel configuration. Free iOS and Android apps are also available for downloading.

Q: 1. Does this come with the EXH-6 attachment? The description is confusing. It says 4 inputs but the base unit only has 2, but allows for the EXH-6 attachment to get 4.

A: The U-44 does not include the attachment for the extra two microphone channels. I have not purchased that to try yet, but the connector on the bottom of the unit works with the microphone that comes with the H6. I think those are the same type of Zoom microphone connector standard.

Q: 2. How do you monitor levels or change settings without a display?

A: This interface is specifically designed for use with a DAW. There are manual knobs and LED indicators to indicate clipping and usable/normal levels.

Q: 3. Can I use this with a USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect to a USB-C computer?

A: The Audinate Dante AVIO 2x2 USB Type-A I/O Adapter for Dante Audio Network uses USB 2.0, so no compatibility issues should arise when using it with a USB-A to USB-C adapter.

Q: 4. Does this record to SD as well?

A: No. This is strictly an interface to your computer or iOS device.

A: The Audinate Dante AVIO 2x1 Bluetooth I/O Adapter for Dante Audio Network allows a single Bluetooth source to wirelessly join a Dante network.

Q: 10. Can you mount this unit on top of a flat panel display? Is there a way to wall mount it?

A: As others said, You can place it on top of a TV without an issue. However, it does not have a wall mount option.

[+18 dBu] I was looking for an upgrade for my built-in webcam (HP laptop about 5 years old), but I wanted something with a wider viewing angle and better image quality. This unit was plug and play (it uses a standard USB connection on the computer side and a Type C connector on the camera side). I liked the fact that the cable was not simply attached to the camera since I could replace the cable in the future if necessary. The CAM-200 showed up in Zoom as a camera option immediately (I had to close out of Zoom and re-open it, but that's it) and I did not need to download any drivers...It just worked. As far as image quality, it was a big upgrade from my built-in camera, much clearer, with better color rendering, and the field of view was much wider. It also reacted much better to strong light sources coming from behind me (my built-in cam would often wash out when sunlight was coming in from a window directly behind me). The clip mount is just OK, it certainly works fine, but it takes a little adjusting. The unit also has a threaded shoe mount on the bottom which is handy if you want to mount it on a small tripod. Packaging was nice and B&H kept updating me on the order as this was initially back ordered. All in all, very happy with the product/purchase experience. 5

[3 ms] This unit is great for getting 2 channels of audio into your Dante network. Just be sure you have Power Over Ethernet, either from your switch or from an injector, and off you go! 5

[Intel Core i5] Most important - Easy and quick setup. This is being used on a Midas M32. The AVIO uses 2 channels such as 7 & 8 that will need to be linked. It does require Dante virtual soundcard for pc or mac and you will need Dante controller (free) for mapping the channels needed. This requires POE. 5

[Intel Core i5] I am using this interface primarily to record 2 stereo pairs from my Elektron Octatrack and multitracking with Ableton Live and Adobe Audition. I'm monitoring on JBL LSR205s & KRK KNS8400s. The build quality of the interface is very nice and the knobs feel durable with no wobble and a good amount of rotation pressure that feels precise and smooth. I have am experiencing very low latency on OSX El Capitan and successfully multitracked into my iPad using Beatmaker. The compressors sounds nice, especially for the price range. I find them to be perfectly subtle; there to enhance your audio recording rather than act as an effect. I think that's a smart decision for an onboard compressor since you could get more dramatic, pumping, compression in your DAW if that's what you're going for. Overall I'm really happy with this interface. I could hardly find reviews of this line so hopefully this is helpful for anyone else looking at these. 5

[0.5 RU] I ordered an Alfatron Salut video camera to replace my existing camera/mic system in our small conference room. I immediately noticed an improvement in the quality of the picture over our old camera and the sound quality from the built-in speakers in our meeting area was a vast improvement over the computer speaker we were using. A larger room should really have a larger speaker system as it doesn’t get much louder than the computer speakers, but for our purposes it is plenty. We used it on a couple of ZOOM meetings already and we were told that we sounded much clearer with the Salut than with our old set up. For $250, the Salut is a great update to any small meeting room situation. 5
