The build feels solid, V- mount feels good coming on and off, and the choice to mount it vertical or horizontal is nice too. I might recommend picking up a longer cable for running power from the side, but besides that super solid product.

This requires a tripod that is known for its stability and a professional video head equal to the Manfrotto MVH500AH or its equivalent, or even better. Regardless when used in studio or field environments, this frame is actually capable of mounting more than one camera and still offers plenty of space available for adding several accessories commonly used for photography.....
The overall adjustment possibilities are quite extensive with height ranging from 6 to 9 inches. Height can still be extended even more simply by replacing the standard 15mm rods that slide inside the handles with a set of rods up to 18, also readily available from B&H Photo.....
Standard width is 10.5 but does not necessarily exclude using a wider camera because of the added forward and rearward adjustment of the base. The base is provided with a Manfrotto 501 style quick release plate and can be raised or lowered using the adjustable slide screw located between the rods. The base can also be moved sideways for centering between the two outer handles. A top plate is also provided with an adjustable cold shoe insert that can provide a very solid anchor for the camera when fastened to the hot shoe receptacle.....
Industry standards allow for using components from the various brands to mix & match with this unit for even more protection and versatility. There are several component bundles that can be added to the C1772 for better handling and offer even better protection for the lens or LCD screen. Using a few low cost add-ons, my camera now has an immense amount of protection in case of tripod tip over so the impact will be absorbed by the frame and will not impact the camera directly. For risky instances I'm also not beyond using bubble wrap or foam padding, but still need protection from rain or (heaven forbid) being dunked in the pond.

[6.6 oz / 188 g] This baseblate is well constructed and I LOVE the quick release aspect. My only nit pick is that I would love it if were just a TAD shorter in height. Still works great, though.

[6.6 oz / 188 g] I used this to convert a Manfrotto pan tilt head to Arca Swiss. This worked well. It is small, so fits well. It had holes drilled that made it easy to attach to the Manfrotto head.

[6.6 oz / 188 g] I love these clamps for drum mics. I own 5 of them and they are easy to adjust, very durable. They work perfectly with the SE V Beat mics (my favorites on toms especially), or any brand of mic using a normal mic clip.

[Aluminum Alloy] The jaws are slightly curved to hold onto tubing, but I actually use these to attach small to mid-size accessories to existing surfaces such as cabinet doors, chairs, etcetera. It holds firmly and the adjustable head stays in place.
