[256-Bit AES] Just put into service, so far so good. This is our second QNAP NAS. First NAS was a TS-469 Pro that has been online 24-7 with original WD2000FYYZ drives since 2013. Hope the TS-453E has the same longevity.

[5x 60 mm Fan] This is a great enclosure for anyone who's looking for a raid system to protect client footage. I can edit my 6k & 8k footage straight from the drives without proxies.

[29.39 lb] This thing is replacing my TS 653 eventually. It is whisper quiet sitting right beside me. It is a faster Celeron than the 653 and it uses metal trays instead of plastic brackets. It gives my system a nice look. One thing all should be aware of is that the holes for the rack mount are smaller than the regular rack screws so keep that in mind. I didn't increase the memory as I bought the 8 GB model, and I love the B&H Payboo Card which saves money.

[5x 60 mm Fan] I bought a pair of QNAPs: TS-451 and TS-431 back in 2015. I wanted to replace the -431 because its 32-bit ARM CPU couldn't run the convenient Tailscale VPN I wanted to use to access it remotely. Then my -451 developed a hardware issue that I was able to repair but which made me nervous about its longevity. So I purchased the -464, moved the drives from the -451 to it, and was back on the air. The repaired -451, with new drives, will soon move to a remote location, accessed via Tailscale. The -464 is a nice upgrade: faster CPU, tool-less disk installation, less cluttered styling.

[10x 2.5" ] I wanted a smaller QNAP to use for my movie archive and it works flawlessly.

[5x 60 mm Fan] I needed to upgrade from an older Western Digital NAS to something with more bays. I landed on this QNAP and I am pretty happy with it as it allows me to have more drives AND is somewhat more powerful. It seems a bit more complex but I have called the good people at QNAP tech support on numerous occasions and they have been very accommodating. They even helped me set up an rsync event (is that what it is? an event?) that allowed me to copy the data from my WD to my QNAP. It was so much faster than having my computer negotiate that transfer. So far so good.

[256-Bit AES] Using with Crucial 1Tb drives in RAID 5 and hitting 1.2Gb read for my home virtualization environment. I have older QNAPs that just keep running without failure.

[256-Bit AES] Great unit for a home rack with only 12 depth. I'd recommend rails though even if the unit is not that heavy.

After an initial fan spinup very quiet, even if heavily used. It's in a closet in a family room and is not audible at all in the room.

Using it with 10Gbit Fiber SFP and one of the integrated 2.5 Gbit interfaces.
Great performance, 200MB/s write, 250MB/s read with NVMe M.2 SSD modules.

Also great for security cameras, includes a license for up to 8 cameras. Running 6 cameras with ~20% CPU load.

A few minor issues:
- Could not get it running with Ethernet SFP modules (tried various), but rock solid with the fiber modules. But given that they consume less power/produce less heat anyway no real issue for me.
- It would be nice if they included M.2 SSD heatsinks.

[29.39 lb] Works as advertised. Supports VAAI storage primitives iSCSI and NFS. Easy to configure and using QuTs Hero with ZFS. Excellent performance and flexibility, as well as dedupe and compression with external cloud storage providers as replication targets. Ordered U.2 - 2xNVMe trays and have 8TB of NVMe RAID0 across 4 PCIe lanes for massive cache performance. Easily maxxed out the system RAM to 64GB using non-ECC DIMMs works great even without using QNAP provided RAM. 10Gbe networking bonded with the 2x2.5Gbe ports for 15Gbe trunked to commodity switch is fantastic. Five 7200rpm x 18TB HDD, 4xNVMe 2TB and 2x4TB SSD for 11 total drives and 106TB raw storage even only using 9 bays. This thing is incredible for a home lab setup for vSphere.

[5x 60 mm Fan] A NAS upgrade from a 5 year old model, these 2 made everything fast and snappy again. Donated the old ones to a city computer organization to help those without such resources, these 2 were a cinch to upgrade and move my data over and be back up and running really fast. Might be better ones out there, but the price and size and ease of use made getting these a no brainer.
