Q: 1. Can this cable be used with the Nikon EH-8P AC adaptor for use with a Nikon Z8? If not, what other cable is recommended?

A: The Pearstone USB4 Type-C 240W Cable (3.3'), BH #PEUSB42403 is compatible with the Nikon EH-8P AC Adapter.

Q: 2. Can i use this with the Akitio Node Lite? Which one will I get Passive or Active cable?

A: Yes, this cable will be compatible with the Akitio Node Lite Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Expansion Chassis, B&H # AKT3NLT3DIYA.

Q: 3. I just purchased a G-Technology G-RAID 12TB 2-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Array external hard drive. I currently use a Late 2015 Apple 27" iMac with Thunderbolt 2 ports. Will this male to male cable work?

A: No, but all you need is a Thunderbolt/Thunderbolt 2 cable and an Apple Thunderbolt 3 Male to Thunderbolt 2 Female Adapter (BH #APMMEL2AMA). You would connect the adapter to the drive, and then the cable to the iMac.

Q: 4. Will this power the thunderbolt ports without power supply?

A: The Plugable Thunderbolt 4 5-in-1 Hub will not power the Thunderbolt ports without the power supply—the hub wouldn't function at all without it.

Q: 5. Does this adapter require extra drivers to be used with Linux?

A: It is possible considering all of the distributions available.

Q: 6. Can this cable be used for connecting a Blackmagic Switcher to a Macbook Pro that is running OBS and Vimeo for streaming?

A: As long as the Blackmagic Switcher works over Thunderbolt 3 or USB Type C, you can use the Xcellon Thunderbolt 3 Cable (1.6', 40 Gb/s), B&H # XCTB354005.

Q: 7. Is this also Thunderbolt 2 compatible?

A: Unfortunately the only adapter that converts thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 is has male connector, however there is another option which has thunderbolt 2. B&H # PRSL2TB210E

Q: 8. Can I connect my MacBook Pro 2016 to my IMac 2017, and use the iMac as an external monitor?

A: No. Target Display Mode is only available on select iMac models from 2009 to 2014.

Q: 9. Is this Mac M1 compatible?

A: Yes. It would work with Mac M1 chipset. Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 products will use the same underlying protocol specification to improve compatibility for USB-C based products. https://intel.ly/3NZAsjE

Q: 10. I have just purchased a Lacie rugged Thunderbolt external hard drive to use with my MacBook Pro 16 computer. Unfortunately, the computer has Thunderbolt 3 ports, and the Lacie has a Thunderbolt 2 connection. If I plug this cable into the drive's additional usb c port, will I get the Thunderbolt 2 performance of the Lacie drive? Or, am I better served to get Apple's thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter to get the external drive's thunderbolt 2 benefits.

A: The LaCie Rugged Mobile Hard Drive with Thunderbolt 2 and USB Type C has a maximum read/write speed of up to 130MB/s. Using this cable, you will get the full speeds. The Apple adapter would not make the drive go faster. When it comes to connections like USB and Thunderbolt with storage devices, I would keep in mind the difference between the concept of Bandwidth (total size of the pipeline) vs the speed the device can read and write. Thunderbolt offers more bandwidth but since this hard drive only reads/writes to 130MB/s no matter which cable you use, that is the theoretical maximum which can be achieved over USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt 2/3.

[USB-C Male] Used to transfer data from my old MacBook Pro to my new one. Took about 20 mins. Would have taken about 9 hours without.

[USB-C Male] So fast! So good

[5 A] I use this cable primarily to feed power via USB-C PD (power delivery) to my Micro and Mini V-Mount batteries that feature USB-S PD to power a Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6 Recorder.

The cable wire has a nice and grippy material and the USB-C connectors stay well secured and will not come off easily to ensure a secure connection, especially when powering a recorder, in which I cannot afford to get power loss or interruptions, especially when recording critical audio such as interviews or seminars.

Very happy with this cable and the size is just about right for my needs.

[0.1 lb] Pretty sure this is the fastest cord you can get right now. Is it a lot faster than a normal USB C or thunderbolt 3? Hard to say, but by telling myself it's fast, I feel like it's moving data faster, and for that, it's worth it
