Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How would I connect a USB keyboard controller to the iRig Pro I/O when using it with an iPhone X and running Garageband iOS? Thanks

A: If you keyboard controller is MIDI compatible, you can connect it to the iRig Pro using the included MIDI cables. The product manual shows the included cables on page 3 and the connections for a keyboard controller on pages 6 and 7. Here is a link to the manual: https://static.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/375138.pdf

Q: 2. Will this work on my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) and recording to garage band?

A: Hey Paul, Yes, the iRig Pro I/O will be Mac compatible and work with software like GarageBand.

Q: 3. The specs say "Digital Audio I/O: None", but does the device not sent digital audio through the usb or lightning connector?

A: The IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo I/O 2-Channel Audio/MIDI Interface does send digital audio output to a compatible device when using the Mini-DIN output connector and any of the included cables which are Mini-DIN to Lightning, Mini-DIN to USB Type-C, or the Mini-DIN to USB Type-A .

Q: 4. I already use the irig pre. Recording eats my phone battery quickly. Thus I have it charging while Im using it, with a brick battery. Can I do the same with the duo?

A: You can use the optional PSU to power iRig Pro Duo, but it will not charge your device while in use. Alternatively you can use iRig Powerbridge to charge your device while you use iRig Pro Duo, but the Pro Duo would still need batteries. If you're currently using iRig Pre, you might consider the iRig Pro I/O. This is only one channel, not two like Pro Duo, but it does have an optional PSU that will both power the iRig Pro I/O and charge your iOS device at the same time.

Q: 5. Does iRig Pro Duo work with 8th Generation iPad (2020)?

A: Yes, the IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo I/O 2-Channel Audio/MIDI Interface for Mobile Devices and Computers will work with and provides a cable for connection to the iPad 8th generation Lightning connector.

Q: 6. I'd like to do a Facebook Livestream from my phone using this for better sound, would my iPhone automatically switch to this input?

A: While yes, Facebook would use the audio connected to the iRig for a live stream, please note that Facebook will only recognize the left input's audio since the app is in mono. For stereo connection to Facebook, you'd want to use a laptop or pc.

Q: 7. if I want to livestream with my iphone 7plus on facebook, using external mic and irig pro I can control sound for livestream and it would work seamlessly?

A: You can control the input gain on the microphone which would affect the volume in Facebook Live but it's not a pure volume control. But it should still work fine, I know many people using Pro I/O for Facebook streaming with no issues.

Q: 8. Ira lighting conection?

A: The IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo Studio Suite Deluxe uses a lighting connection into Apple iOS devices.

Q: 9. I want start streaming teaching keyboards lesson using my Yamaha Genos now my question is should I use it with iPad Pro, iPhone or Mac?

A: Either platform will work great. The iRig Pro I/O can be used with Zoom on iOS or Skype, Zoom, or any other app which allows digital audio input. Personally, I suggest Mac for more options, but you could really utilize both. When you are home use Mac or when you're away use iOS.

Q: 10. What does the headphone output hear? Is it the Input before the preamps, the Output after the preamps, or is it used just for listening to a replay?

A: The headphones can either monitor the post mix or with the direct monitor switch engaged, the dry signal.

[96 kHz / 24-Bit] We have tried nearly every device on the market and after hours of trying to get it this to work and finally it did. The equipment is great. It was our incompetence that took so long.

[96 kHz / 24-Bit] The IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo I/O 2-Channel Audio/MIDI Interface for Mobile Devices and Computers is a superior device. Before I installed it, the ambient room noise captured on my internal microphone was almost more than the intended recording. After installing it, the ambient noise is all but gone and the clarity of the recording is fantastic.
