Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit in the overhead cabin space?

A: Yes, with no issues the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack will fit in over head cabins.

Q: 2. Will this bag fit Nikon Z9 with 180-600mm attached?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack has depth of 5.5" but the Nikon Z9 mirrorless camera has height of 5.9" so it will not fit.

Q: 3. will the 30 L backpack fit under a plain seat?

A: It depends on the airline but it meets FAA requirements and should fit in the overhead.

Q: 4. Will this hold an Olympuys EM1X, RRS L plate and mounted 150-400 mm lens? The length spec looks like it is OK but the depth seems 2-3 cm short. If not, is there any other alternative?

A: The EM1X would fit but adding the L plate might make it too large. I would recommend this Manfrotto instead: https://bhpho.to/3fIF4uq

Q: 5. Based on the specs it doesn't looks like Sony 600mmF/4 GM will fit, anyone tried?

A: It will fit length wise, but sadly the lens is too wide to fit properly on the inside of the case.

Q: 6. Do the regular 30L version and the 30L with laptop sleeve have the same interior and exterior dimensions? Both carryon approved.

A: Yes, all versions of the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L) have the same dimensions, which are within the TSA recommended dimensions for carry-on luggage.

Q: 7. What is the width and thickness [in millimeters] of the shoulder straps on the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack's strap's width is 75 mm and the thickness is 18 mm.

Q: 8. will this fit a nikon 600mm F/4E FL VR lens?

A: Yes, the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L) has interior dimensions of 20.08 x 11.81 x 5.5", which should support the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4E FL ED VR Lens (B&H # NI6004EEDVR) with a diameter and length of 6.54 x 17.01".

Q: 9. Will this fit the Pro 6? The ones that fit the Pro 6 also say version 4 compatible. So Maybe?

A: We are unable to promise that it would, as it is not rated to do so. If the model line even slightly changed the shape of the bezel in the 6th version, the case would not fit snugly, if at all.

Q: 10. Is this can hold 600mm TC lens with Z9 body attached?

A: The Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 Backpack (Black, 30L) has an interior dimensions of 20.08 x 11.81 x 5.5" and it will not hold the Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S Lens (Nikon Z) (6.5 x 17.2") with the Nikon Z9 body (5.9 x 5.9 x 3.6") attached.

[Zipper] This case goes over the apple keyboard case, and provides the more robust protection I think I need without interfering with the keyboard, I was a little unsure that it would do what I wanted, but it's actually pretty great!

[Black] The good and bad part of this bag is its butterfly compartment which opens 50% of the bag on each side allowing you to organise stuffs according to your usage. Eg. 1 side tripod, the other camera. Or 1 side clothings, the other camera gears. Once open its incredibly easy to organise them using old school velcro partitions which it comes with a ton of it. The catch it, balancing the weight on both side.

Something notable is the design to keep all the waistband and straps to be tucked inside and make the bag looks very neat not to mention the material makes the bag feather weight. You will tend to overload with things to make the bag feels heavy. Try other bags with the same load you will realise how lightweight this bag can be.

I've used the first generation, sold it because of its design - too plain, not exciting and opted for those adventure looking bag. Not only they cost me more most of the time, no 1 is going to look good with the extra weight of these bags bogging the photographer down. I have since used 3-4 other major brands equivalent and decided to go back to this version 2.

Overall not an exciting bag, but very practical for me. If i'm carrying it on the street like an urban bag, I won't buy it. If I'm bringing for travel and goes to forest, tundra, national parks, the animals will not care at all.

PS: the company seems to be uncontactable nowadays not sure are they still operating. Buy them while you can.

[Zipper] If there’s such a thing as the Perfect Camera bag the Gura Gear 2.0 30L is it.
I’ve just arrived back from a 23 day trip to Madagascar and during the 6 flights had no problems fitting the bag in the overhead bins. The bag proved more than comfortable whilst trekking with roughly 11kg of gear and whilst on wet muddy trails the butterfly flaps meant I could access my Camera gear with ease without having to place the bag on the ground. I slipped up on one trail and landed heavily on my back whilst wearing the camera bag and my first thought was that I must of damaged at least one of my cameras but much to my relief everything was intact. I also own the Tamrac G32 which I love but it’s a little too big for International/ Domestic flights.
The Gura Gear is my new favourite bag

[Yes] I love this bag. I had the original and when it was discontinued, I did everything I could to scrounge a backup bag on eBay. When this was released, I grabbed one right away. Pretty much the same as the old bag - which is a great thing. You can get more gear in this than most (if not all) other 30L bags, access is far better (you don't have to open the entire front flap to get to something at the bottom), and it's incredibly versatile. I've used the current bag for wildlife shoots all over the world and it's been great. Even fits my Nikon 600mm!

[Zipper] I was nervous about the bag being able to hold my 400 lens but it holds that lens with camera attached as well as my 100-400 lens with camera attached. I can also get extra batteries & other little things I may need when I am out shooting. It was a bit pricey but it is a great bag!

[Yes] Split top opening is the best! Get your gear in and out without room for the flap. Big enough for all my gear, comfortable enough to bring it all with me.

[4.03 lb] Love this bag! Coming from an MindShift Backlight 18L, this bag holds everything. Surprisingly comfortable fully loaded. The concept of the butterfly lids make easy access. Furthermore, all the equipment is not exposed if you’re just needing one piece. Easily holds my Nikon 800mm f/5.6 lens with factory hood in one half, camera and other lenses in the other. I believe this is the last bag I’ll ever need to buy!

[Zipper] I have more camera backpacks and cases than I would like to admit. In general, I prefer Lowepro but this one just seemed perfect for me. The split compartments is idea. I put my Nikon camera and lenses on one side and my Sony on the other. It has more storage than one thinks and it is all easily accessible when you lay it on it's back. The material is light but strong. The zippers are great. The two handles are strong and comfortable. If you are just carrying the pack to a location you can pack the shoulder straps out of the way. (The waste belt must be removed.) Camera packs are personal but this one is perfect for me. I recommend it.

[Zipper] Well constructed, lighter than other bags I looked at, a lot of nice bonus features - extra dividers for customization, velcro straps for managing loose adjustment straps, harness zips away when not in use. The bag is carry on compliant, but holds a lot of gear. Z800mm with hood reversed and camera attached fits on one side, second body with 100-400 attached fits on the other, as well as a couple of shorter lenses. Ample room for filters, batteries, etc in the external pockets.
