The lightweight SmallHD INDIE 7 On-Camera Monitor Pro Essentials Kitfrom SmallHD INDIE 7 On-Camera Monitor Pro Essentials Kitprovides professional monitoring in a sharp 7" IPS LCD with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 10-bit color processing, 1000 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, touchscreen control, and updated SmallHD PageOS 4 firmware. It features HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, and it supports up to UHD 4K video input via HDMI.

The INDIE 7 is powered using the included L-series battery plate or using the 2mm barrel input with a DC adapter. It can also be powered using separately available Gold mount or V-mount battery plates. An SD card slot allows you to import custom 3D LUTs and a micro-USB port to provide upgrades to the display. Four 1/4"-20 threads allow you to mount the monitor in a variety of configurations. The 3.5mm headphone jack allows you to monitor the embedded audio from the HDMI or 3G-SDI inputs.

Using the intuitive SmallHD PageOS 4, you can turn on and save pages of various monitoring tools and focusing aids with a finger tap. It also features a settings dashboard, preconfigured pages and tabs, templates, exposure assist, overlays, function buttons, and numerous improvements, while maintaining all the features of its predecessor, OS3.

[IPS-Type LCD] This is exactly what I've been looking for. It may be pricey for a complete beginner but it is worth it. It could be a little large for a smaller camera. The size of the screen draws many eyes to it, and people love to critique. Also it makes reviewing clips more enjoyable WHEN THE ENTIRE CREW IS TRYING TO LOOK. All my comments refer to not having a director's monitor on set. 5

[100% Rec. 709] The monitor is very bright, it can be used outdoors. Its construction is solid. It has many configuration options, it is versatile. Maybe it has the power tab too close to the grip thread. same goes for the sdi connector. Very good image quality, the definition is really amazing. You can see the 10 bits. 5

[Aluminum] This is the best 24 monitor I've ever used! The screen is color accurate, sharp, bright enough for outdoor use, and calibrated perfectly out of the box. The menu system is easy to use and loaded with helpful features for every use case on set. My team is extremely pleased to see my wireless camera feed from the Teradek Bolt system in incredible 4K resolution with zero delay. With the SmallHD V-mount battery plate (separate accessory), I no longer have to worry about cables. I can power the monitor for several hours with 2 V-mount batteries- what a relief! The VESA mount on the back makes it possible to mount this monitor to any stand. The included screen protector is a huge bonus! Also, the upcoming firmware updates will ensure this monitor stays at the top of its game for many years to come. I highly recommend this monitor! 5

[IPS-Type LCD] I purchased the Shinobi 7 to put on my Komodo originally as it was half the price of the Indie 7, but after deciding to exchange it, I was so glad I did. This monitor is bright, quick, intuitive, and just works. It's been put through multiple 10 hour days and it adds so much easy functionality that you need out of a professional monitor. If you're in the market for a monitor ; just buy this one, you won't regret it. 5

[17.3 W] SmallHD knocked it out of the park with this monitor. It is pricey, but it is well worth it if you are paid for your work. My 701 lite died last Summer on a hot day of shooting. SmallHD discontinued it, so there were no more options for repair. They did offer a credit for the old monitor. I wasn't trying to invest too much equipment at the time as I had invested a lot in the previous year. However, a monitor is so crucial to my work. The monitor went on sale for around $1200, and I decided to bite the bullet. It was one of the best decisions I made last year. It is packaged well and includes a premium glass screen protector and a cleaning cloth. The PageOS software is so intuitive to use. The monitor comes calibrated and matches exactly what you see when you pass your footage to an editor or edit your work. There's nothing like knowing you got your shot before ending the shoot. The monitor is also very light. It has a unibody aluminum chassis, which means you can attach it to pretty much any camera. You can't beat this monitor for the value 5
