Offering the ultimate in image quality, the X-T5 features a 40MP X-Trans 5 HR CMOS sensor in a compact, lightweight body that maximizes functionality and portability. Imaging performance is in no way compromised by the camera's diminutive proportions. Instead, the X-T5's improved image processing algorithm delivers outstanding results and is packed with details right across the native ISO range.

A dynamic camera with powerful video functions, movies can be recorded internally at up to 6.2K at 30p in 4:2:2 10-bit color, plus there's a 4K HQ mode which oversamples 6.2K footage for superior 4K output. This higher video resolution unlocks 2x digital zoom functionality, providing additional in-camera versatility without a noticeable drop in quality.

Both F-Log and F-Log2 recording are possible, with the latter providing an expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops. Additionally, 12-bit ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW can be output via HDMI to Atomos and Blackmagic devices accordingly.

Featuring outstanding autofocus performance, the X-T5 utilizes 425 phase-detection points and is now sensitive down to -7 EV for working in truly low-light conditions. Also, backed by deep learning, an AI adaptive algorithm means this focusing system is better suited to automatically detect and track animals, athletes, birds, cars, motorcycles, and moving subjects.

Thanks to the camera's in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system, quality-sapping camera shake is minimized. Built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 7 stops. This system works in conjunction with most X Series lenses, including non-stabilized ones, and benefits working with slower shutter speeds and when shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Additionally, digital image stabilization can also be used during video recording to further aid in steadying footage, especially when recording handheld.

Utilizing the camera's IBIS system to precisely shift the sensor, Pixel Shift Multishot automatically records 20 separate frames with one press of the shutter release. Resulting files are combined using Pixel Shift Combiner software to quadruple the camera's resolution and produce a detail-rich, 160MP file. Perfect for commercial applications or digital archiving, it's also ideal for any static subject where image quality is of primary importance.

The X-T5 provides powerful image making performance to ensure it's ready for action, no matter how fast your subject is moving. A top electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 sec and a maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 sec will stop any subject in its tracks, while a lag time of just 35 ms gives an almost instantaneous response when the shutter release is pressed. Keep a finger down, and the X-T5 will record images at up to 15 fps with the mechanical shutter, or 20 fps with the electronic shutter. Either way, no important moment will be missed.

Film Simulation modes allow you to reproduce the look and feel of several of FUJIFILM's film types, including Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, PRO Neg.Std, PRO Neg. Hi, Classic Neg., Nostalgic Neg., Eterna Cinema, Eterna Bleach Bypass, Acros, Acros + Ye Filter, Acros + R Filter, Acros + G Filter, Black & White, Black & White + Ye Filter, Black & White + R Filter, Black & White + G Filter, and Sepia.

  • Large OLED electronic viewfinder features a crisp 3.69m-dot resolution for bright, clear, and detailed eye-level viewing. Additionally, this EVF offers 0.8x magnification for an easy-to-view image that is further enhanced by improved suppression of parallax and distortion compared to its predecessor. The 100 fps refresh rate, meanwhile, allows virtually blackout-free image making.
  • Large 3.0" 1.84m-dot LCD touchscreen for intuitive operation and playback, and the tilting design greatly benefits working from high and low shooting angles.
  • Utilizing an NP-W235 battery, up to 680 frames can be recorded from a single charge, plus the mechanical shutter guarantees 500,000 actuations, delivering long-term accuracy and reliability.

  • Micro-HDMI port for outputting video to an external recorder or monitor.
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 port supports tethering, data transfer, and in-camera battery charging.
  • 3.5mm external microphone port for greater control over audio recording.
  • PC sync port for flash sync.
  • 2.5mm remote port for using wired remote controllers.
  • Integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity allows for wirelessly sharing images to a mobile device or to use the device to remotely control the camera.

[TTL] I have owned the X-T2 and X-T4 prior to my purchase of the X-T5. The 5 was hard to come by. BH afforded the notification option, which I used to good effect. Delivery was when stated.

The X-T5 does not offer a vertical grip. This means there is no opportunity to add additional batteries or the grip assistance for portrait shots. The X-T5 battery life is longer than the older battery and the camera is apparently more efficient in its power use. The weight of two extra batteries will not be missed. As for the vertical group, spend 40+ years without one and you figure out how to hold the portrait orientation without the grip.

The handgrip on the camera body is deep and comfy. Even so, I opted for the Fuji baseplate making for an even more secure handhold.

Those who do a lot of tracking focus will have to read up on the current firmware botching this mode. We can't be certain that Fuji will fix it - they claim to have done so for the X-H2 and G series. So why not the X-T series?

I don't typically use tracking focus but I did try it out. Using it in dog mode produced the first photos of my dogs running that had eyes in focus. So, for me, I am happy.

Stabilization works as advertised.

I keep ISO at 640 so that my RAW files can inherit the greater latitude (400 percent HDR). I always thought this would not have RAW but I was wrong. Noise has not been a concern.

Ergonomics have been great. Controls are what you expect from a photo oriented camera. No simulation dial or obvious mode dial offering P for Professional.

I appreciate the increase in resolution over the X-T4 allowing greater crop flexibility.

Color quality is as one would expect, no differences here.

All in all, I love the camera so much I might dust off my old studio lights and have a go at the neighbor's kids come Christmas. They carol!

If you own a lot of X glass, as I do, this is an awesome camera.

[FUJIFILM X] Already owned an XT5 for a year and knew it was the best aps-c camera out there... but now that I have the XF 16-50mm f2.8-4.8 I have the lightest, most powerful setup in the solar system... love it.

[14-Bit] So far, I'm impressed with the XT-5. but to be honest it's hard to review the camera until I've spent more time with it. I'm Just learning how to set it up and take basic photos and still have much to learn about its' capabilities. Looking forward to getting more familiar with this camera.

[1x USB-C Input] I've been using the X-T line for over 8 years, first X-T1, then X-T2 and after that I just didn't see too much drive to upgrade except the lack of IBIS. Meanwhile I moved partially to Nikon fullframe. I spent a lot of time convincing myself that the Nikon camera and lenses are nice to use...And then the X-T5 appeared! I preordered rigth away. Now, after a 10-day foreign land trip my love for Fuji X-T cameras is again in full blossom. The sensor and processor are wonderful that permeate the images with brilliant colors and tones. Saturation is otherwordly. Autofocus, one of the weaknesses of my X-T2, but not terrible at all as some tended to suggest, tremendously improved. Ergonomics even better that on the older cameras and the grip, despite being smallish, is perferct. It is a pleasure to work with the camera and to look at it! I can't wait to go out for birding with my XF 100-400 mm lens. Strongly recommend upgrading to anyone who likes Fuji cameras.

[Stills & Video] I just upgraded from the T30II and I love this so much more (I loved the T30II also that's why I stayed on brand). The extra size is so welcomed, love the locks on the dials and the button positions and the AF tracking and image stabilization and weather sealing and extra MP for cropping. so far no complaints.

[Bulb Mode] The #5 slick like no other, size beauty sound it just fits on your hand, a beauty... the bad things are the focusing problems. I like to think there is because I just got her, but I already have experience using other fuji. Focusing is so erratic and the time it takes for the image get process it feels like old times when cameras were working on 4 mg. It flicks on and off I see a vertical triangle then changes to square then the pic ture gets taken. Perhaps I don't have is set up properly, but I have been following guys on their advice setting up their xt5 still I get the fo using problem. Not even a month together and returned one before and this one is flickering while shooting I don't want to be returning it and only ?said what gives? With Fuji

[3"] I am a professional portrait and editorial photographer. I have been an avid Nikon user for many years but now I have officially transitioned over to FujiFilm. My love affair with FujiFilm began first with the purchase of the X100v, which I bought to take with me on my vacation. I absolutely love this little camera and it has inspired me to go out and shoot more often. The X-T5 is simply amazing - the FujiFilm color science (along with it's infinite film recipes) is incredible. I still love shooting film, so the retro look and feel of these two cameras is a marriage made in heaven. Thank you FujiFilm, for making me fall in love again with photography!
