The LE-60 Levelling Base does come with it's own allen key, and will fit most tripods. I found it very useful on a shoot outdoors, with my landscape horizons all level, It is a solid piece of equipment, and worked in well between my manfrotto Video head 128RC and my Manfrotto 55CX3 tripod. For heavier video heads, it may not be up to it, but certainly for what I was using it for, it worked perfectly, quite robust and I did not find it difficult to use, once I was familiarised with it. No complaints.
