The 4-Channel Rackmount Mic Signal Splitter from RapcoHorizon splits each input signal into 2 outputs. It features an XLR female input, isolated XLR male output, a ground lift switch, and a -20 dB pad switch on every channel on the front panel. On the rear panel, every channel has an XLR input along with a non-isolated loop output. Multiple splitting is possible thanks to the isolated transformer, which eliminates harmful effects that occur due to impedance drop or DC voltage leak between consoles or recording units.

The single rack space splitter features a rugged cold-rolled steel chassis, and is suitable in both live and studio applications where multiple mixing is required.

Q: 1. I need to split my soundcard's main output (2 balanced 1/4'' - L & R) to 4 speakers. Can I use a 'Y' cable to hook a stereo 1/4'' into the input and use the JIBS 4 outputs to each speaker? I'll lose the balanced connection with the Y cable, though.

A: Dear all,We are interesting this products for 8 pcs. Please advise the stock status. Is this have stock available?BR,Shake

Q: 2. Can this spilt audio and mic from an iPhone 11 Pro if connected via Apple Lightning to 3.5mm adapter?

A: It can not.

Q: 3. Is the impedance constant on the input side as you add more headphones/speakers to the outputs, or does the input need to be increased as more peripherals are added?

A: I bought two of these boxes to add additional two-channel outputs for connecting three digital recorders simultaneously from my mixer's main mix outputs. After connecting everything, I did not add additional input gain to the splitter boxes, but I did note that the three digital recorders required slightly higher recording levels than they did in their standalone configuration. Hope this helps!

Q: 4. Under outputs it says:XLR Direct Output x8 XLR Transformerless Output x8What's the difference between direct and transformerless?

A: Hi Daniel, one of the outputs on each channel is directly connected to the input, and will give out exactly what is sent in. As far as I know, this it the channel that has no transformer, and will therefor also feed phantom power out. The other channel has an equally winded transformer that does nothing to the physical sygnal, but it gives out a clean sygnal that is isolated and will not allow for a ground loop potential differance to pass through to the source. It does not make sense to me to seperate the direct out, and transformerless out description, as they are the same. I would call it a Direct/Transformerless out, and one isolated trasformer out. But again, this is what I think, and I might be wrong. Hope this helps.

Q: 5. is this used to get rid of hum?

A: Yes, this device typically will remove the 60Hz AC hum generated by connecting two devices that are not sharing the same AC ground.

Q: 6. I'm also looking for the flexibility to use it as a line level input. It main emphasis is mic. But I see a pad of -29 dB. Will this unit work for line level (synth, +4 dB line out from sound recorders)?

A: I have used it with a Keyboard Line Level out using the pad switch. One line out of the mic splitter was going to a live mixer the other line out was going to an audio interface and DAW for recording. I would very well. Dan

Q: 7. What is this arm's max weight capacity when fully extended?

A: This is not a publsished specification. I would keep it under 5 lbs.

Q: 8. Does phantom power pass thru this without issue from the input to the direct out?

A: My guess is if you turn on phantom on one mic pre only, it ought to work... (Phantom power comes from a mic pre, connected to one of the 2 outputs) Contact Pro Co to confirm: Pro Co Sound Tel: 800-253-7360 or 269-388-9675 Website http://www.procosound.com/ Email info@procosound.com https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/393443-REG/Pro_Co_Sound_MS42A_MS_42A_4_Channel_Microphone.html/specs

Q: 9. What is this boom arm's max weight capacity? The mic I want to use is roughly 3-3.5 lbs with the shock mount.

A: The manufacturer has not specified a maximum weight capacity, but the Auray MS-GIGBOOM is intended for use with lighter weight mics, like a traditional handheld style vocal mic. You may want to consider using something with better counterweight like the Ultimate Support Ulti-Boom Pro Telescoping Microphone Boom (B&H # ULTSMB) which has a 0.65 lb counterweight, or the Atlas Sound B2237 Platinum Design Series 37" Microphone Stand Boom (B&H # ATB2237) which has a 0.5 lb counterweight, or the Atlas Sound PB15EB Fixed-Length 34" Microphone Boom (B&H # ATPB15E) which has a 2 lb counterweight.

Q: 10. I have 4 UCR411s. I want to connect those to a single RF Venue Diversity Antenna. Would I use one of these for A signals from the UCR411s and another for the B signals? And then just use the input to go to the RF Venue fin? Or do I have the input/outputs of this thing wrong in my head?

A: This is possible to do. However, when you split the antennae feed to the receivers, you will suffer a reduction/ level loss. For that reason, it is suggested to use B&H# LEUFM144. Select 5dB boost and then your revers will all receive an adequate signal

[4] I purchased the ART S8 for a location recording project where I needed to send the stage mics to the front-of-house mix & my location Protools setup. It worked as advertised. I got the feed I needed for my recording & FOH got the feed she needed for the house sound. A good inexpensive solution. A nice addition to my location audio toolbelt.

[5.3 lb] This is just what we were needing to do remotes. we break off facility mixers and bring into our own mixer. It creates a lot of cabling but this is fine with different color cables. Just ordered the ARTs8 3 way to put in line in our studio. We will be using that to split our feeds and go to two separate programing computers. unit is 1ru and well made. Sound was clean and provides a great deal of versatility

[5.3 lb] We were looking for a splitter to use on stage so we could run our own monitors and give the house a clean feed. 24 channel splitters cost a lot more than we were willing to pay at the time. A sound guy we worked with suggested getting 3 of these instead of a single 24 for a fraction of the cost. We did and the rest is history. We have tested these extensively while practicing and have used both the directs and the transformer feeds for our sound. We play loud country & rock and we couldn't tell the difference between the outputs. We've only played out with the new set up a couple of times, but so far it is everything we hoped for at a great price. We couldn't be happier.
