As ZV10 is tiny crop camera that I am using as second cam for A6700, I needed cage that can use all A6700 accessories. Cage from SmallRig was best choice.

In the pursuit of the perfect camera for Vlogging, I ve bought action, pocket , DSLR , Mirrorless APS-C cameras. However, all have something that is not to my liking. This Sony ZV-1 is not so different. But a few issue such as battery life and not so wide angel lens, I have bought extra batteries and an extension for the grip to fix the issues.

There's a false review that claims it does not actually work well on Mac. Rode made this to use Rode Central on the Mac. Unify is for Windows.
All functionality works great using Rode Central on Mac.

I bought three Sony ZV-1. That explains everything. For YouTube, vlogging, especially for travel when you want to go light, this is an excellent choice. I shoot 1080 only. Don't want to deal with 4K, large files, etc. 1080P for online consumption is good enough in my opinion. And this little one, boy oh boy it delivers. Put a small wireless mic and voila you look like a pro. Set it in Intelligent video and if you're a novice, will work fine. I've once forgot to plug in the wireless mic cable , so everything was recorded with the camera's internal mic. Didn't realize it till the shoot was over. I could tell the sound was not as good as the external mic, but was good enough for me to decide not to reshoot. In a pinch the internal mic. works surprisingly good, will save the day. Again I love the size of this little Sony and the quality of the image is real good. Well the Zeiss lens is great no doubt about. Again if you're vlogging, put content on Youtube, social media, travel, this is it. This thing is barely bigger then a credit card and much smaller than my phone. Has a 1 inch sensor, which does pretty good in low light also, much better than any phone that's probably $1200 or even more. Good for B roll. Conclusion. Get it!

I'm absolutely blown away by how B&H Photo is on top of inventory issues that other vendors seemingly cannot manage.


For example, I've had the Rode Podmic USB on back-order for weeks on Amazon. B&H had it immediately. B&H's inventory indication is honest and doesn't mislead like Amazon's has been doing lately. I was skeptical at first when B&H said the item was In stock and would be delivered in 2 days. I went ahead and ordered, and there it was, right on time!

Example, I'd order something from Amazon that doesn't indicate any type of backorder. I'll then follow up in a day or two to see if there is any activity. Nothing. I contact Amazon Support - they give me an update that there is currently no ETA, but could ship a month after I ordered it. That's not good enough! Furthermore, I pay Amazon a lot of money every year to be a Prime member.


I'm getting more out of B&H (for free) than my **** Prime Membership!

Same for this Rode X Streamer. I ordered it from B&H, it shipped to me and was in my hands immediately. B&H Pulled through when other vendors could not! Thank you!


I should also add: B&H Gives the customer MANY, MANY other shipping options that are otherwise not a choice on other sites.

Received the ZV-1 this morning.
Wow! Small but powerful.
Does everything the write-up promises.
When I saw the online manual with 555 pages I swallowed hard, but the in-camera menus are laid out very intuitively, easy.
1080p clean HDMI with audio in any mode
ECM-B1M shotgun mic works great
Shoots or records on wall power via USB
RMT-P1BT remote works perfectly:
* paired effortlessly
* zooms thru full range of optical and digital
* snaps stills while recording video
Has wow features I'll never use:
* facial recognition which I think stores a cam setup profile for that particular face, are you kidding?
* shutter trips on a configurable level of smile, I mean dude!

Only downside is the zoom is weaker than I'd like and the 30 minute recording limit to SD is disappointing but this will be a stream cam and for that purpose it is perfect.

Battery comes only slightly charged so charge it up first.

Great camera. Well played SONY!

Overkill for my needs...I use it as a webcam for Zoom meetings. It works flawlessly (with a capture card) for that use case.

This camera cage is a dream in that it not only protects the camera, it improves the grip and has attachments to easily add to my kit. Love it. All my cameras have SmallRig cages.

So far, I like this cage for my Sony ZV-E10. Grip is beefier and options for connecting to a tripod or mount are much more varied than the camera itself. LOVE the extra cold shoe mounts. Feel better if the camera gets dropped or pushed around. Overall I'm pleased.
