Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many exposures do I get with half frame camera?

A: Regarding the Kodak ColorPlus 200 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) and how many exposures you get with a half-frame camera, it would be generally 72 frames.

Q: 2. Does the 100 foot roll of HP5 Plus have a Core in the middle for the bulk loader?

A: Yes.

Q: 3. 1) What is the expiration date?2) How to ship to Beijing China? EMS or FedEx or other? 3) In the ship of transportation through X light?Thank you

A: 1/ The expiration date is the date stamped by the manufacturer on the film box and it is the date until the manufacturer guarantees best performance under standard exposure and development. Film can be used few years after the expiration date without serious quality loss if the film is stored at low temperature (freezer). If not stored at low temperatures the film starts losing quality due to oxidation (slow process of fogging). Fogging becomes visible few years after the expiration date.2. How to ship to China? - sorry I'm not qualified to answer this question3. Do not let film go through X-ray - that will destroy unprocessed film that (undeveloped). Use special X-ray protective material to keep film safe when it passes through X-ray machines.

Q: 4. Does this fil work with any traditional film camera

A: Yes. Works well with any traditional 35mm camera.

Q: 5. If Kodak no longer makes film, how old is this film?

A: This is brand new film and still being made by Kodak.

Q: 6. what developer yields best results for this film? best results in terms of higher contrast, sharper image, infrared accuracy

A: I used Kodak D76

Q: 7. What is the dimension of the packaging (length, width, height) of this 50 roll pack?

A: B&H may call it a 50 roll pack but in my experience, it's nothing of the sort - it's been years since B&H actually sent me the old white cardboard box full of foil wrapped bare rolls without the normal individual box and plastic canister. What I've actually got every time I've ordered in recent years is simply 50 of the standard boxed rolls factory packaged in 5 standard cellophane wrapped bricks of 10 rolls.Dimensions of the 10 roll brick is 19 cm x 8 cm x 6cm - the dimensions of 5 of those will depend on how B&H's shipping department stacks them in the box.B&H's bulk discounts are a bit of a joke as there's no saving in buying 1 roll or 50 rolls - it's exactly the same price so why bother? There are NO bulk discounts so I buy HP5 135-36 elsewhere..

Q: 8. Could you reduce price for high quantity?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot. The prices we have listed for film are the best that we can offer.

Q: 9. Is this film fairly good for portrait or for general people shots?

A: Yes, this film would be very good for general photography and people.

Q: 10. Is this priced as one roll or 3 rolls?

A: Kodak ColorPlus 200 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is one (1) roll of film.

[36] I love the deep rich blacks this film has. Used with a Hoya R72 you can get some amazing infrared images. Works beautifully with Ilford DDX developer too!

[35mm] SFX 200 is a great change of pace from Ilfords other films. Shoot it with a red filter to get infrared-like effects, but make no mistake it is not an infrared film. A bit grainier than other black and white films, but that makes it great!

[36] Excellent infrared film can be used with Red (R25A) filter, but for me it's best to be used with true infrared R72 infrared filter, I use about 6 stops compensation with very good result. I using Kodak HC-110 for processing, results are great

[36] Read online how to expose this film with R72 filter. Used a Mamiya 330 Pro S. Very first film developed prints came out great.
Black sky with white foliage on the trees and
black water. Used a Gossen Luna Pro SBC
at 3 & 6 ASA. F16 at 2 or 4th of a second.
Bright sunny day. That's 5 or 6 stops down.
Thanks to everyone who suggested how to expose the pictures

[200] I tried this film, for the first time, by running it through my Leica, using both a 50MM F2 Summicron and a 35MM F2 Summicron, utilising a Leitz 39MM deep red filter. I determined the exposure compensation by holding the filter in front of the meter, taking a reading, and then another reading without the filter and arrived at 3&1/2 stops which equates to a filter factor of 8-10, or so. In any event, the images were spectacular! The sky is rendered almost black and clouds were a brilliant white, with detail (think Zone 2-3) in them. Without a filter, SPX performs closely to a regular B&W film in its rendition. I had a lot of fun using this film, not being sure of the outcome but I was quite pleased with the results and I will not hesitate to use it again. Hope this was useful for you...

[35mm] I have not used the 120 yet, but I have used the 35 version which is he same. It does exactly what it promises. Without a filter, it behaves like a typical not-too-fast, not-too-slow B&W film with good grain. Put on a red filter and the infrared effect is quite good. I used it for landscapes and got good results. Highly recommended. Of course with the red filter you lose a few stops of exposure but since it is most appealing with skies in the shot, that may not matter.

[Acetate] I bring this film with me every time I think I'll shoot black and white. I love the fact that it provides consistent results yet varies pretty dramatically depending on the chem used to process this stuff. If you want clean good looking images use XTOL and add 30secs to develop time at standard temp using smooth slow agitation cycles. If you want to go to to the opposite spectrum, use firm agitation and process at a slightly higher temp in Rodinal. If middle of the road is right for you. go by the book in D76, you won't be disappointed. This is truly the most creative b&w film you can buy.
