Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this bag fit the Fuji x100v with a lens hood?

A: Hi, it may fit, although the specs say that the camera with a lens hood are almost exactly the same as the interior dimensions, so it may be tight.

Q: 2. Are the clips on the side functional?

A: Don't use them much, but nice if I want to attach it to my F2 camerabag;-)

Q: 3. will the leica q and batt charger along with extra batt fit?

A: As always the users always give the best advise! i cannot add anything more to this thread except to concur with John W. i personally would go into the hadley digital above the stowaway for that camera setup. but it would fit fine into the smaller stowaway.Eric

Q: 4. Is it big enough to carry a Fuji Xpro with the 8-16 f2.8 attached?

A: Domke F-803 RuggedWear Camera Messenger Bag (Camo) BH #DOF803CAMMB is big enough to hold the Fuji X-pro with FUJIFILM XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR Lens BH #FU8162.8WRB attached.

Q: 5. Is this bag large enough to carry a Canon 5Diii, 24 - 105 ans 100 - 400 lens ?

A: I do not think so. I bought it for the same purpose and there I stayed, sleeping on the shelf. It is very small and the announcement is not explicit enough, in my opinion. It is deceptive. Victor Baldioli

Q: 6. I am wanting this for two Leica m bodies with lenses plus a couple of lenses. Is this a better option than the Leica m Combination Bag?

A: Either bag will work, the S4 is larger and will have more space for more items if you wanted. If you will always be carrying 2 bodies and 2 lenses only, the combo bag would be fine.

Q: 7. Are any of the padded inserts removable so that the bag can be used a messenger bag on days when one doesn't want to carry a camera?

A: Yes. The bag comes with one padded insert (1 x FA-280) that can be removed if desired. The rest of the bag is unpadded.

Q: 8. WILL A NIKON Z8 WITH 24-70 2.8 FIT?? THANKS

A: Yes, the Billingham S4 Shoulder Bag (Khaki/Tan) will fit both the Nikon Z8 with the 24-70mm f/2.8 and then some. Perhaps a second or even third lens.

Q: 9. Underneath the flap, is that a button or a rivet on the front pocket? Is the front pocket big enough to slip a glasses case or just like an iphone and filters?

A: It's a snap metal button. If the eyeglass case is not huge then yes you could get it in there. I keep keys, spare batteries, and small field journal in it. Hope this helps

Q: 10. I am a little concerned about the 3 inside depth of this bag. Will lenses like a Canon 35 1.4 and 50 1.2 fit comfortably with their hoods in this bag both on and off a 5DMkIII?

A: I use the Domke F-803 to carry a Fuji X-T1 and three lenses. One lens is usually on the camera. The bag is perfect for my needs. I had a Canon 5DMkII before the X-T1. It may be a little snug, but, I do believe that the F-803 should be able to accommodate your setup.

[Slip-In] This bag is great for travel and a mirrorless system. If traveling light is your goal, you will be pleased. I put an iPad Pro 9.7, Sony a7II 24-70mm f/4 attached with room for 24-240mm and 50mm lens or a 70-200mm, with room for batteries. The quality of the bag itself is bar none. The leather trim is a nice touch and the canvas feels really durable but soft. The other great thing is that it doesn't look like a camera bag which is exactly what you want when traveling. Definitely worth the purchase.

[Slip-In] Carries my digital SLR with a couple of lenses and is very well protected. It is easy to get the equipment in and out of the bag.

[Slip-In] Bought this Billingham Eventer camera bag for an upcoming trip in December to Europe including Munich, Vienna and Stockholm. Needed a well constructed bag that would hold my Sony DSC RX1RII and my Sony A7r along with two lenses. Also taking a small laptop. While expensive, the bag is made of the highest quality materials and is well designed - and rather lightweight. This bag definitely measures up to the quality of my two cameras and the Zeiss lenses!

[Slip-In] I have three Billingham bags; a Leica Combination (my favorite for a Leica and three lenses) a Hadley Pro (my Nikon SLR and four lenses) and then this S4. I use this S4 when I am photographing events and want to have multiple bodies so I dont have to change lenses as much. I like that it is wider than the Hadley Pro, as I often like to use external finders on my Leicas, and for that, the Hadley is a little too narrow. When I use this bag I often have an M6 with a 28mm lens, an M4 with a 50mm lens, and then an FM2 with a 180mm and a 105mm. This allows me to work quickly and respond to changing environments. the front pouch is large enough for filters, a light meter, and some film, but I feel that it is just a hair too narrow. I really like the larger pockets of the Pro and the Leica bag better in that regard. A shoulder strap is really a must for this bag if you have it loaded out and are carrying it for more a while. I also like how this bag has a zipper that you can use to keep dust or prying hands from reaching in. It also has a design that lets you tuck the zipper out of the way when you need to move more quickly. The zipper and this tuck feature are nice and also the two main downsides of this bag. Because of the zipper, this bag is a bit less waterproof then say the Pro or the Leica bag which have a top flap completely covering the opening and in S.E. Asia downpours have kept my gear completely dry.  I fear that if I was using this bag in that kind of environment that the zippers are the area where water can enter the bag from the side. The other downside is that when you have the zippers tucked away, there is an opening on the sides that can let in a lot of dust. I love this bag and have enjoyed using it over the past 1.5 years when I have a specific event that I am photographing. For a daily bag and a travel bag when I am carrying it all day, I take the Leica bag, and the Pro is for when I am using my SLR and need to take my 180mm or 300mm lens.

[Olive Green] I purchased this bag from B&H roughly 15 years ago before it was discontinued. I am happy to see that Billingham decided to give it new life. I remember opening the shipping box and seeing it for the first time and thinking to myself - IT'S TOO PRETTY! What venue am I possibly going to use this in? I'm usually shooting in dirty locations such as chasing railroad locomotives or at playgrounds with my children. I also remember hiding it from my wife because once she saw it I would be interrogated about the cost (The money spent would have purchased a lot of diapers). I thought of returning it for a refund, but this was now impossible due to it's looks. So it remained hidden for a few years until a friend of the family asked me to shoot his wedding. I tried to get out of the wedding shoot because I still did not want my wife to see the Billingham bag, after all I could not shoot a wedding with my beater bag-right? He insisted (knowing he would get a cheap photographer) and I relented. Luckily the wife could not attend the wedding, but I still had to smuggle the bag out of the house. During the wedding the bag got more comments then the bride and groom-HUH? I knew then that I had better not ever leave the bag unattended as it would most certainly walk away. To this very day my wife has never seen this bag. Some nights when I want to look at something beautiful other than the wife I will retrieve my Eventer from it's secret hiding place and gaze at it's magnificent qualities.

[Olive Green] I really wanted this bag to work, but it was just to small. Coming from a Kata/Manfrotto bag which has multiple pockets and compartments and could hold my equipment... the Billingham bag was just not big enough. It was an awesome bag, quality materials, and looked very sharp... just wasnt big wnough and needed to be returned.

[Slip-In] Outstanding compact camera bag - I got this to house a Leica X-U and extra battery and lens cloth. It's a perfect fit, and should be ideal for many mirrorless cameras as well. It has a unique type of fastener - twist and pull.

[Olive Green] Very nice insert. Easier to arrange items with its flexible dividers. It'd be better if the base has a more rigid foam like the one in f 1.4 bag

[Slip-In] Solid bag, deeper than the Hadley Pro Large. Quality all the way.

[Slip-In] I own the Hadley Pro and was unable to arrange the interior to fit 2 or 3 Fujifilm X-T1 cameras with larger zooms attached (plus the usual extras).  The Pro simply was not wide enough.  This problem was overcome with the design of the Billingham S4 bag.  Although both bags have roughly the same exterior dimensions, the S4 is easily configured for my needs.  As expected, both bags feature the quality and attention to detail this manufacturer is known for.  Now all I have to do is live long enough to wear out them out.
