Delivering cinematic image quality for 35mm film photographers, the Amber 100D Color Negative 35mm Film Expired 03/24color negative film is re-formatted movie stock that has been prepared and packaged for use in still cameras. The traditional anti-halation layer has been removed from the film, enabling its development in C-41 chemistry as well as the motion picture standard ECN-2 process. Benefitting from the distinct qualities of a low-speed motion picture stock, this daylight-balanced film is well-suited for outdoor shooting in bright conditions and exhibits a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21°. Although the canisters are non DX-coded, a DX-code sticker is supplied for use with automatic cameras.

This item is one 27-exposure roll of 35mm film, expired on March 2024.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the expiration date?

A: Typically the expiration date is about a year from purchase.

Q: 2. What is the developing process for this film? Does it have a remjet layer??

A: Kodak Ektachrome 100D Color Reversal Film 5294 is processed in E-6 chemistry in a cine machine only. It does not have a remjet layer.

Q: 3. What is the weight of the item?

A: The Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film (8 Exposures, Expired 08/2023) weighs 0.23 lb.

Q: 4. Has anyone used this film with flash? I may be shooting this in a small club with the usual red blue green stage lighting. Is there anything I should know about this film's performance before I experiment with it? Thanks.

A: I think it works well

Q: 5. is this a c41 film ?

A: Yes it is. The Film Photography Project Low ISO Color Negative Film (35mm Roll film, 24 Exposures),BH #FIFPP1080, requires C-41 film processing.

Q: 6. What is the current date of expiration on this film if I order several rolls this month?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 7. Can this film be used in a Kodak M35?

A: The Film Photography Project Low ISO Color Negative Film (35mm Roll film, 24 Exposures) is meant for use in SLR cameras that allow for manual exposure and bulb mode. It cannot be used on the Kodak M35 point and shoot. The M35 is made for more standard films in the 100-400 ISO range.

Q: 8. what does "used" mean with it? it already has exposed photos or it's just a open box item?

A: In this case, the used version of the Kodak GOLD 200 film would be unused and unexposed and it was returned after being shipped to a customer who did not open the packaging.

Q: 9. What is the developing process for this film? Is it E6? Can it be cross processed as c41?

A: The developing process for the Kodak Ektachrome 100D Color Reversal Film 5294 (35mm, 400' Roll) is E6.

[C-41, ECN-2] I found this film to be very versatile, much moreso than I expected. The film renders blues and reds very nicely, although it struggles with greens. The grain is incredibly fine. When white-balanced in Adobe Lightroom, the pictures have a very nice appearance to them.
Despite the low ISO, on a very sunny day, shooting at f/2 and 1/125, or f/2.8 and 1/60 allows handheld shooting. I did not use a tripod for this film, but I think some shots would have benefited from a tripod and 1/30 shutter time. An EV100 of 14 or higher is needed to shoot handheld with a f/2 lens. I used this film in my Kodak Retina IIIc.

[Daylight] The Amber 100D gives you a unique look you can't find with fuji and or kodak. The colors are vivid and the images are sharp. It give you a kind of blueish/greenish cast on the photos that is very calming and tasteful. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a great alternative to the mainstream film stocks!

[1] I got a single roll of this to take to Sweden, and the nature shots I got with this film were unbelievable. I used an older Canon Canonet camera without a flash, so some of the low-light photos came out pretty dark. As long as you shoot with a flash or with good natural light, you'll be fine and end up with gorgeous photos. I would highly recommend this film for its fun, funky, and rich colors.

[100] Exactly what I would expect from a Polaroid, the only way I could tell it was expired is that It had a slight tint to it, a little red, but honestly it makes the pictures feel even more appealing to me.
