Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The "Polaroid" film says "used". Is it outdated? What is the expiration date? Question for SX70 AND 600 type films.

A: This Polaroid film including the Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film (8 Exposures), BH # PO600CLRFILM and the Polaroid Color SX-70 Instant Film (8 Exposures), BH # POSX70CLRFLM are brand new. The expiration date would be within 6 months to 1 year from now.

Q: 2. On the website, Polaroid claims I can run 600 film in an SX-70 with the the flash. Is this true?

A: While I am not certain what you might've read, it is likely the opposite, as 600 film is much more sensitive to light than SX70 film (ASA 640 vs 160). Polaroid themselves recommend an ND filter for SX70 cameras using 600 film so as to not overexpose the 600 film: https://bit.ly/3Jc2aXr

Q: 3. Is this capable with Supercolor 635CL?

A: No, the Polaroid Color SX-70 Instant Film is not compatible for use with the Polaroid Supercolor 635CL Instant Camera. If you need a compatible option, the Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film (8 Exposures), B&H # PO600CLRFILM, would instead be recommended for your usage needs.

Q: 4. Can this Polaroid 600 film pack be used in a Mamiya RB67 pro S model II Polaroid film back ?

A: I am sorry the Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film does not fit into a Mamiya RB67 pro S model II Polaroid film back. The last to make film that fit was by Fujifilm and it is discontinued.

Q: 5. Will it go with a spectra camera?

A: This film is not compatible with a spectra camera.

Q: 6. Can this film be used in an RZ67 Polaroid back?

A: No, the Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film (Double Pack, 16 Exposures) can only be used in a Polaroid 600 and i-Type Camera. It does not fit into a polaroid back. The instant film that did fit is no longer made.

Q: 7. can you use i-Type film on the SX-70 camera?

A: The i-Type film is only for the i-Type cameras but you can use Polaroid Color SX-70 Instant Film (8 Exposures) BH #POSX70CLRFLM • MFR #6004 for the sx 70 cameras.

Q: 8. Is there any Instax film I can put in a Hasselblad Polaroid bag by any chance? Kind of like Fujifilm fp100c....

A: The Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film (5-Pack, 40 Exposures) is not compatible with the Hasselblad Polaplus 100 Polaroid Film Magazine. This film back only takes instant peel-apart film or pack film, which has all been discontinued. Also, there are no Instax film types that can replace it.

Q: 9. Chemically, is this any different to the old Polaroid Originals stuff?

A: This has a different chemical makeup due to tighter EPA restrictions now.

Q: 10. Can this film be used in an RZ67 Polaroid film back?

A: This Polaroid Black & White i-Type Instant Film is not compatible with a Polaroid back for the Mamiya RZ67.

[White] as much as I like the color sx-70 film, the black and white has so much more exposure range that it's hard to beat in nighttime or weird indoor situations

[Rectangle] I will be ordering more with the color

[Polaroid SX-70] I find the BW polaroid film is easier to work with than the colour polaroid film. All 8 shots came out perfect.

[Black & White] This film is a bit on the expensive side (per shot, compared to Instax Wide), but the results are equally good. And it enabled me to use the venerable Polaroid SX-70, still arguably the best instant camera even today.

Last time I used my Polaroid SX-70, I have to deal with either expired old film or use a plastic ND filter with 600 film (and cut off some plastic notches). It is great to be back with my old friend SX-70, using native film.

Overall tonality and sharpness are pretty comparable to the old SX-70 film. I do need to under-expose by about one stop (using the dial), to get the best overall result.

[Rectangle] I like this better than their colour film. It develops fairly quickly, the contrast and dyes look good, and works great in old SX-70 cameras.
