The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Nikon F DSLRis a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. The focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing for attaching a follow focus unit. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

The 16mm T2.2 lens is constructed out of 13 individual elements in 11 groups, including one aspherical and one hybrid aspherical element. Aspherical elements help minimize unwanted distortion and chromatic aberrations. The lens also has a multi-layer coating to reduce flares and maintain image contrast in bright conditions.

With an angle of view of 83.1°, the lens is well-suited for shooting landscapes, architecture, and for use in tight interior locations. A maximum aperture of T2.2 means that the lens is effective in low-light shooting and can produce a shallow depth of field when the lens is closer to the subject. A: Yes

A: The original Pocket Cinema Camera has a 2.88x crop factor. This lens would give you around a 46mm view on that camera.

Q: 5. Is this lens compatible with the sony a7sii with the fotodiox adapter?

A: This lens is only capable of covering an APS-C sensor. I believe the a7sii is a full frame. There would be vignetting.

A: Manufacturer's have to name their products something so that everyone knows what is being talked about. The company marketing department is usually involved with this so that the product will have appeal for customers. Unfortunately, we cannot find an explanation for CV so I would hazard a guess that it might be Cinema Vision.

A: It will work fine on the URSA Mini 4K and 4.6K. Apparently it produces a 30mm image circle which will just cover the 29mm diagonal of the 4.6K and more than enough for the 4K. I realize this is an old question, but newer shoppers may still want to know.

[77 mm] The lens has been my go-to wide angle for years. I finally picked up my own, and I use it primary with a gh4 with a speedbooster. The image covers the sensor, although with some slight vignetting that is pleasing if anything. PROS: -Value -Amazingly sharp, even wide open. -Little distortion for 16mm -Takes standard 77mm filters -Great build quality for price -Very smooth focus -Fast with pleasing depth of field -Super close focus CONS: -Not weather sealed -Only covers crop sensors, but can be speedboosted fine. -Not as high quality as professional cine lenses, as expected. -Plastic filter thread 5

[77 mm] This lens is great!! As an editor I have seen footage from a lot of cameras and and lot of lenses and if you are using a cropped sensor camera this lens is perfect for getting a cinematic wide look in your shot. Nice clear shots with great lens flare effects. 5

[Super35/APS-C] This lens is not perfect, but for the price, you really can't beat this lens. This lens renders detail well and is sharp from corner to corner, howver, it could be better. 100% crops on photos reveals that details tend to be a little soft, but then.. we are not reviewing a zeiss lens here. The focus and aperture rings are very smooth and focus is easy. Infinity focus is not found where the marking on the barrel is located, but this is no problem. Once you find where infinity really is, just make a new mark on the barrel. If you are looking for a great wide angle that performs well for a great price, then this lens is for you, but if you are looking for perfection, I am afraid you may find yourself in a higher price bracket. 5

[8] I bought this lens to use with my Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera which has a super 16mm sensor. Of course, this is a canon EF mount lens so if you are shooting on an MFT camera you will need an adapter. I bought the Holymanta EF to MFT adapter with built-in variable neutral density filter to kill two birds with one stone, the obvious being adapting this lens, the other reason was to be able to shoot wide open outside in a range of conditions without needing to stop and mess with a bunch of stuff on the front of the lens. This lens is about the equivalent of a 32mm lens on a full-frame camera and it really looked good on my first shoot. I'm sure there are better lenses and I'm sure most of them cost way more but life is short and if you need a good cinema lens that works well right now this is a great option. If you are into shooting with equipment that is designed to work like much more expensive gear, e.g. the BMPCC and can handle some of the drawbacks like working with smaller media such as sdxc cards, short battery life, poorer on-camera audio, etc. then this lens is just another great way to do that. I will definitely be buying more from this Rokinon Cinema Lens line. 5
