You could use the included surface clamp to clamp the smartphone holder onto the tripod plate or you could use a thread adapter to attach the gooseneck to the 1/4"-20 stud on the tripod plate. The threads on the gooseneck are 5/8"-27, so you will need a thread adapter with 5/8"-27 male and 1/4"-20 female ends, such as the CAMVATE 5/8"-27 Male to 1/4"-20 Female Microphone Screw Adapter (B&H # CAC1150) or the Auray 5/8" Male to 3/8" & 1/4"-20 Female Combo Reversible Thread Adapter (B&H # AUADCOMBOB).
