Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi All, Can anyone help me. I was wondering if anyone has used this with the MeFOTO PMU50 Quick-Release Plate? Will it work?

A: I bought these because the plates i bought didnt have the fold out ring to grasp to undo. These u dont need a penny to tighten or undo. For me its a no brainer. Extra cost but to me worth it.

Q: 2. Would this work on a Magnus QR plate?

A: Better not to

Q: 3. Is there a screw that is longer? The threads in my camera are recessed, and this screw (that came with my tripod) isn't long enough to reach them.

A: use a quick release plate, buy a longer screw with the plate. Done

Q: 4. Will this screw fit the QR plate of the Manfrotto 410 head? If not, is there a D-RIng type screw that will fit it?

A: You will want the proprietary Manfrotto 1/4 screws.

Q: 5. Can this attach correctly to : Benro IN00 Single Action Ball Head with out damage?

A: This item is designed for quick release plates; it would not be compatible with the ball head itself.

Q: 6. Can I use the Induro PU-50 Slide-In Quick Release Plate with this D screw?

A: This screw can only be used with Oben RP plates.

Q: 7. Does the D-ring lock to one side so that it doesn't swing down and get in the way when you're trying to seat the plate in the head of the tripod?

A: The ring will stay in place as it is tight enough so that it doesn't jiggle around.

Q: 8. Can it be used as well for the Arca Swiss QR plates as well?

A: I have the Oben QR-30 Quick Release Plate. B&H ad for the Arca-Type Pro Quick Release Plate states features Arca-style grooves to fit not only the Sirui G20, K20x, K30x, and K40x heads, but also quick-release clamps from several other manufacturers, such as Acratech, Foba, Graff, and Wimberley. At 2.76 x 2.36 , the TY70-2 plate is quite long and wide to support larger cameras. Its thumbscrew has a flip-up element that enables you to insert it tool-free into any camera's 1/4 -20 thread. Can your plate clear the 1/4 diameter? Using fingers, can't get enough tightness. Still have to use either a hex wrench or a coin. Have run into clearance problems with the D-ring. Went back to the stock hex keyed fastener.

Q: 9. I have a MEFoto tripod which uses an INDURO PU 50 Swiss Arca plate. Can I remove the current screw and replace with this D screw without damage to the plate or the camera?

A: I have done that with two plates. Works great. Screw easily removed and new one easily installed. Beats the heck out of that flat head screw. Mefoto should have used the D screw to begin with.

Q: 10. Can I use with a Sirui T-005SK T-0S Series Travel Tripod with B-00 Ball Head (Black, Aluminum) B&H # SISUT005SK MFR # SUT005SK ?

A: Yes you can

[1/4"-20] Got two of these screw for the D-Ring capability. Unfortunately they were not as tall as I needed. These are great little screws, but I should have checked the specs first.

[1/4"-20] Very high quality machining. I love the triple fastener style (D ring / hex key / coin slot). But the real benefit is for cameras that have a very shallow tripod socket (Nikon D800 series are the most egregious). It can be extremely difficult to find short 1/4-20 screws to work with those cameras, and this one is the best I've found.

[1/4"-20] I use this for keeping my flash secured to a flash bracket. Using this I don't have to worry about having a coin to tighten it up or looking for my glasses to make sure I get the coin lined up correctly with the slot on the screw. I love this things!

[Coated Steel] I replaced the allen screw (hex wrench) with this screw to cut down on extra tools needed to switch plates. The hex wrench is hard to keep track of and I always seem to misplace it when I need it most. This spare is not the primary means to secure the base plate to the camera without and special tools. Well made and it fits perfectly.
