It mic can operate as a mono shotgun mic, or a stereo mid-side mic with a built in decoder that makes mid-side work and gives a more spacious (more ambiance) sound than a mono shotgun. A: I only use mine mounted in a flash shoe either on camera or on my camera platform. The attached cable is about 18 long. Unless you buy an extension cable a pole won't work.
