The 60" x 50' roll of Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige II Glossy Paper Rollfrom Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige II Glossy Paper Rollfeatures 340 gsm paper made with the aesthetic of traditional darkroom paper. This is achieved by adding a coating of barium sulphate prior to the inkjet receiving layer. The paper has a natural white base without any artificial brightening agents (OBAs).

The gloss finish enhances deep blacks and pure whites and intensifies the color gamut. The Baryta Prestige II paper offers exceptional image quality, detail, and tonal range to produce superb color and black and white images. Produced on a mixed alpha-cellulose and cotton base, the Baryta Prestige II paper has excellent handling characteristics and is FSC and ISO 9706 certified.

A: The Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II has a very low OBA content.

Q: 3. does this paper fold without cracking? I would like to use it for a long concertina book and have been trying to find an art paper that won't crack when folded?

A: The problem you're having is that you want to fold against the paper's grain, as I assume your long length is coming out of the 50' dimension of the roll. Any inkjet paper will crack to some degree. You should be able to mitigate this by scoring the paper before folding, using a tool designed for such (google: paper scoring tool), or in a pinch use a ruler and paper clip. You want to put the score on the side of the paper away from direction of fold (not on the inside the fold).Alternatively, you could consider getting a 36 or 44 roll and cutting the strip you want to inkjet out of this roll (assuming 36 or 44 would be long enough for your brochure?). This would mean you'd be folding with the paper's grain anyway, though you'd probably still want to score the paper before folding anyway just to help.

[340 gsm] I recently tested a number of gloss and luster print papers from my two favorite paper manufacturers. Hahnemuhle and Canson. I have been a fan of Hahnemuhle Baryta papers for a very long time. It was a close contest but I recently switched to Canson Baryta Prestige II glossy paper. It is brighter, has a bit more sparkle to it and I really like the texture of the paper. 5

[22 lb] I've been super impressed so far with this paper. I bought an A3 pack of this and Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag Matt Baryta to compare. I like the look of the Canson better than the Hahnemuhle but do concede that the Hahnemuhle seems to be a little more durable. Obviously if you need paper without OBA content the Canson is not the way to go but considering the price and that so many of us don't need the print to last 200 years, I'm blown away by the Canson Baryta Matte. Also surprised that it doesn't get a lot of talk. I've used it for both Black and White and color. It holds an incredible amount of detail and the complete lack of any type of glare is fantastic for viewing. 5

[99%] I've just started printing with the Photographique II paper and must say it is now my favorite paper. The surface has a beautiful sheen with the slightest texture you can see with sidelight. While I haven't done any technical testing of the paper, the blacks are rich and the color seems slightly more vibrant than some other papers I have used. I use a color-managed process (much like any good printer would do) and I find it comes closer to matching my NEC monitor than anything else I've used thus far (Exhibition Fiber, Innova Fibaprint, Museo, etc. - though these are excellent papers YMMV). I due like Hahnemule Photorag, and highly recommend that as well if you like a more stippled surface. Personally, I prefer the smoother surface or Phgoitographique but may love the Hahnemuhle paper. Whichever you choose, be sure to stick with it for a while to learn what it can and cannot do. I'm still at the beginning of my exploration of the Canson offering, but so far in love. 5

[88%] This is a great paper!! As good or perhaps slightly better than my previous favorite paper- Hahnemuel Baryta. This paper has more depth to the blacks, and the surface yields a better sheen; less glossy reflections that distract than my previous papers. Added bonus- the price is less too. 5
