Q: 1. Since this cable has a molded split, how far apart can speakers be placed? How far from the 1/8 jack is the split?

A: I'd say about three feet. The vast majority of the 15' comes after the split. It's way more than I need--I've got a 4 or 5-foot desk and use this cable to connect a couple of Behringer powered speakers to my MacPro (which sits off to one side) for video editing. My plan is to mount the speakers on the wall, probably a little higher than head height, and even after that I'll have plenty of post-split cable left over on each side.Otherwise, the quality seems great. Both the audio from my documentary projects and music from iTunes sound super. It's not Monster cable or some such, but I can't imagine that there's much if any loss of sound quality. I wanted this setup to improve the audio side of my editing, and the cable doesn't seem to take anything away from the speakers. Highly recommended.

Q: 2. What does wired for low impedance mean? Are these wired out of phase? Please explain what wired for low impedance microphone means.

A: The cable in question is a standard mic cable. Low impedance alias lo-Z means it is a balanced load cable. There are 3 wires -- send, return, and ground. The connectors are the XLR type on both ends. All decent audio mics are balanced, lo-Z. Some are dynamic and some are condenser. Both use 3 wire. It is possible to get a cable that has a male TRS phono jack on the amp side, but most have a male XLR, just like the 3 prongs on the butt of your microphone. Balanced loads can travel long distances without losing signal. Unbalanced (2 wire) loads degrade after 10feet or so. Guitar cables are unbalanced in the typical case -- return wire acts as ground shield. Only the cheapest mics are unbalanced anymore. For more info, visit Wikipedia.

Q: 3. does this support 144hz 1080p?

A: Yes, all DisplayPort cables that are not Reduced Bit Rate (and this one is not) will.

Q: 4. XLR = gold plated XX Neutrik ???

A: Currently preassembled Canare cables feature Neutrik XX series gold connectors.

Q: 5. How long is the 4 pin xlr cable, and is it permanently attached to the power brick?

A: The cable is soldiered in and around 5 feet long.

Q: 6. What adapter or cable can I use to connect this to a regular 3 pin XLR cable? Thanks

A: This PGA98H-TQG model is wired for connection to a Shure wireless transmitter. Although there is an adapter available, for XLR connection with phantom power, it will usually not be the most cost effective option: (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/619325-REG/Voice_Technologies_VT0137_VT1126_48V_Phantom_Power.html). Instead, I would recommend purchasing the version of this mic that is already made for a hardwired XLR connection. Our part number for it is SHPGA98HXLR and I am linking it below: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1128561-REG/shure_pga98h_xlr_pga_98h_clip_on_cardioid.html

Q: 7. What are some Rycote shockmounts that would work with this microphone? Rycote does a terrible job of not mentioning this on their website.

A: The Rycote HC-15 Short Shotgun Microphone can be used with a variety of Rycote shockmounts such as the Rycote 037340 Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boom Poles, the Rycote 041138 InVision On-Camera Shockmount, the Rycote 041136 INV-Lite 19 Boom Shockmount for Short Shotgun Mics, or the Rycote 042901 InVision Video Hot Shoe Microphone Suspension.

Q: 8. Are these cables made in the USA?

A: These cables are made in China in a Mogami factory.

Q: 9. Would this work with a C500 mkii?

A: Yes, this will work.

Q: 10. Do you know what is 6 ft., Microphone Cable ?

A: Audio-Technica AT8314 Premium Microphone Cable - 6' (1.83m) B&H # AUAT83146

[9.5 x 4.5 x 1"] What do you want from a cable? These cables are well made, and seem like they will continue working for many years. Some cables feel shabby, but these are solid and feel like they are high quality.

[0.95 lb] I needed a cable quickly and these were the best price and was in stock. I've now used them for over a month and they're still going great. I use them in a build up / breakdown process so they get their fair share to wear and tear but no complaints here.
