A: At the smallest MagLatch Setting yes, however at the largest it doesn't quite fit. Most of the time it will as long as it is not packed to maximum capacity.

A: Yes, there are multiple access points to be able to manipulate necessary controls.

A: There is a clear plastic cover on the left side of the rain cover. I have a similar camcorder (HDR-FX7) and if I had used the LCD screen it would have been difficult to see it. I highly recommend the cover though. It has saved me more then a few times during rain and snow. The way the cover surrounds the eyepiece there is no chance of moisture getting to the body of the camcorder.
