  • The EW-DX EM4 DANTE operates in the UHF band, far away from potential Wi-Fi interference in the 2.4 GHz band.
  • The UHF transmission greatly enhances range (up to 330') and the wide 87 MHz bandwidth gives you the ability to find a clean channel from 3480 available frequencies.
  • Intelligent Switching Diversity offers effective protection against multipath and other anomalies that cause RF interference. The system compares incoming signals on two independent antennas and receiver circuits to ensure optimal wireless quality. The receiver switches between antennas only during header data as to never affect the audio information.
  • Sennheiser's equidistant tuning grid removes the need for frequency coordination and enables you to operate up to 146 mic channels simultaneously.
  • For complex systems requiring even more mics, engage the Link Density mode for up to 293 channels on the same system.
  • AES-256 encryption keeps your transmissions private and safely protected from unauthorized users.

  • The EW-DX EM 4 DANTE receiver offers intuitive front-panel controls and dual high-contrast OLED screens with meters for RF, battery status of the associated transmitter, and audio output that make setup a breeze.
  • The auto-scan function automatically seeks out the cleanest available frequency for you.
  • The receiver pairs with the transmitter via Bluetooth from up to 120' away, enabling you to quickly pair the mic directly from the stage without having to bring it close to the receiver.
  • The back panel houses four balanced XLR outputs and four unbalanced 1/4" outputs for direct connection to any PA system or mixing board.
  • The unit features a built-in universal power supply and comes with a kit for rackmount installation.

  • With the Smart Assist app (free download available separately) installed on your Android/iOS phone/tablet, the power of Bluetooth connectivity puts full control of the EW-D EM 4 DANTE right in the palm of your hand. Use your mobile device to connect via Bluetooth for efficient operation and monitoring of your system.
  • Sennheiser's Control Cockpit software for Windows allows you to view all the devices across your network, check the microphones in use, monitor battery life, troubleshoot problems, and adjust settings.
  • For larger setups, Sennheiser's Wireless Systems Manager provides frequency planning and coordination and real-time monitoring of RF and audio levels. It also allows you to import frequency scans from third-party devices and conduct walk tests and receiver bandwidth scans.
  • The system supports third-party interface plug-ins for easy integration into any controlled environment.
  • Dante ports allow you to integrate the receiver into your Dante network and distribute the digital audio anywhere you need it in your facility.

  • The rear-mounted, 1/4-wave detachable antennas can be upgraded to longer, 1/2-wave dipole antennas (available separately) for added range and reliability; you can also choose an ADA UHF Active Antenna or the AWM Wallmount Antenna as well.
  • For setups with multiple receivers, the EW-D ASA Splitter allows you to split and distribute a dual-antenna signal across four receivers for clearer reception without the intermodulation problems that can occur when multiple antennas are used.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have an Sennheiser EW100 G3 Receiver with a frequency range of 516-558MHz. Will this antenna still work?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser HALF WAVE DIPOLE Half-Wave Antenna Rods for EW-D EM Receiver are compatible for use with the Sennheiser EM 100 G3 Wireless Receiver that operates on the 516 to 558 MHz frequency band.

Q: 2. Does this fit the new EW-D receiver?

A: The Sennheiser EW-D EM receiver comes with a dedicated rackmount kit for mounting either a single receiver or two receivers together in a standard 19" rack. The GA 4 Rackmount Kit is designed for use with the EM D1 receiver and the dimensions of this receiver are slightly different from those of the EW-D EM receiver. The EM D1 is a bit smaller. At this time Sennheiser does not offer a separate rackmount kit for the EW-D EM since it is included in the box with the receiver. But you can contact Sennheiser directly if you need replacement parts.

Q: 3. Is this bodypack transmitter compatible with the Sennheiser EM 6000 Receiver?

A: The Sennheiser EW-D SK Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (Q1-6: 470 to 526 MHz) is only compatible with EW-D receivers. The EM 6000 is designed for the SK 6000 and SK 6212 transmitters. It is also compatible with SK 9000 bodypack and SKM 9000 handheld transmitters operating in Long Range mode.

[5.1 LE] We use exclusively Sennheiser wireless equipment, and have never had a failure while performing. Added this to our rack the day of the show and it performed flawlessly. B&H ALWAYS delivers. Amazing product from an amazing distributor.

[10 mW (EIRP)] Because the Sennheiser receiver amplifier does not come with antennas these are a must have to boost the signal of the woefully inadequate antennas that come with the Sennheiser receivers. These are inexpensive and work well.

[Digital UHF ] three of these for video depositions. being as they are considerably different than the Shure set-up Ive been using for some years it took a little bit to learn their idiosyncracies. It has no problem telling me a given channel is not working very well but to change and then synch the bodypack is easy. painless. FAST. I'm using them with the SK XSW A bodypacks and the ME 2ii lav mics. They sound great. NB: I'm not putting a lot of distance between TX and RX. 20 feet? But a party left the room with her TX and, well, I muted her on my end when I heard suddenly talking to another party way down the hall... MY biggest thing was foorprint! I don't have the luxury of a lot of horizontal surface in my gig. Having TWO channels in each of 3 small boxes means everything. That's why I liked the Shures so much, until I didn't ( 5? 6 years? ) anymore. Pricey? A little bit. I've been around long enough - you get what you pay for.

[4] It was very easy to swap out the stock antennas (quarter-wave) with these, and we haven't had a signal dropout since. The small box contains two antennas. The BNC connectors attach firmly so you can angle them 45-degrees to either side as usual (to accommodate any polarization) and they don't fall over. The length might make it challenging to use this in a rack, but for tabletop use it's just fine.

[Metal] I specifically got this unit because it does not operate in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth which is unbelievably overcrowded at the moment. I actually think the sound quality is a little better than my Line 6 Relay G90 unit that I have been using for the past five years. I used this system over the weekend in a casino where my line 6 unit had severe drop out issues due to the 2.4 GHz bandwidth. This unit performed flawlessly and I am very happy with it. The obvious weak link in this system though is the guitar cable which seems to be very cheap. I went ahead and ordered Neutrik connectors and bulk cable and made a couple of my own cables which are bulletproof. Overall you cannot beat the system for the quality and reliability in this price point.
