Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The specs say this lens accepts an 82mm filter. The photos show a large front element that extends past the front of the metal. How does the filter attachment work with the protruding lens?

A: A 82mm filter would screw into the circular lens hood itself. It does not mount on the lens itself. (No filter can mount in the also included Lotus-style lens hood.)

Q: 2. Es compatible con la sony a6500?

A: Yes, the 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm T1.05 Vision Cine Lens will work with the Sony a6500.

Q: 3. Does this have any contacts for metadata?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm T2.0 Spectrum Prime Cine Lens (RF Mount) does not have electrical contacts.

Q: 4. Since this lens is for a Super35, would a crop factor still apply? In other words, is this lens really 50mm or 75mm (crop factor)? Thanks.

A: Yes, a crop factor will be applied to this Super35 lens.

Q: 5. Is it possible to change the lens mount on my own?

A: This lens is not user-swappable. Duclos Lens offers premium cinema modifications for Meike lenses in Micro 4/3, Sony E, and Fuji X mounts.

Q: 6. This lens is working for lumix s5

A: Yes, this lens is combatable with the Lumix s5.

Q: 7. Hi there, what are the 6 screws for that come in a pouch with the lens?

A: The Screws are for focus assistance and would give you more of a grip to control the 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm in a more easy fashion giving you something to hold onto. Also the package does not include a pouch.

Q: 8. What is the outer diameter of the lens? Will a 95mm clamp-on matte box like the Tilta Mirage work with it?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm T2.0 Spectrum Prime Cine Lens (L Mount) is 82mm in diameter at the front of the lens, so you could use Tilta Mirage Matte Box with this lens since the Mirage comes with a 82mm adapter.

Q: 9. Since this is designed to cover a Super 35 sensor, does this mean it would not have the typical 1.4-1.6x crop factor? I am planning on buying the Bmpcc 6k Pro and am concerned with the increasing crop factor when shooting RAW in resolutions under 6k.

A: The crop factor is determined by the size of the sensor not the design of the lens. The fact that this lens is designed for super35 means that it will not work well larger sensor cameras (such as Full Frame or Medium Format).

Q: 10. Hello. Are these 7artisans Photoelectric Cine Lenses suitable for 8K recording or perhaps 6K recording on Fujifilm X-H2?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 50mm T1.05 Vision Cine Lens (X Mount, Feet/Meters) would support both 4k and 6k cameras.

[Full Frame] This lens was a pleasant surprise. Really good sharpness & color. Amazing build quality. And the gears turn very smooth & with the perfect rotation amount. Yes, there's some breathing, but with some post work that can be corrected. And they do flare with a strong light source when wide open, but not overdone. Just the right amount of character & sharpness I feel between modern & vintage glass.

[Full Frame] I've used ROKINON lenses which were quite above average. The Sirui anamorphic lens was even better. I just finished my first feature using the Sirui. Now that I just used this Meike FF on my Bmpcc4k for my trailer.... I am just blown away by the depth of field, bokeh and color depth of this lens. The quality, the weight, the build quality is on par to a much more expensive cine lens. This is the range of a 5k plus cine lens. I'm planning on buying the other focal lengths as well

[Sony E] I seriously LOVE what these lenses do as an intro set of Cine glass. As a long time Sigma Art series user I didn't realize how much of an upgrade this was going to be from Photo glass. I'm super happy with the money i spent on this and also the 35mm. I will be getting the 24mm and 85mm ASAP!

[82 mm] I had some hesitation in purchasing this lens. In this case you get more than what you paid for. The build quality and optics are fantastic at this price point. Sharp wide open and tack sharp at 2.8. Nearly zero focus breathing. A good long, smooth throw on the focus. Smooth aperture adjustment. The lens was smaller than expected, which is perfect for mounting on my Sigma FP L rig.
