The Vixen Optics AP Photo Guider Telephoto Kitis a compact and versatile grab-and-go equatorial platform with a telephoto lens for astrophotography. The original AP Photo Guider is upgraded for telephoto setup with the addition of the Dovetail Slide Bar DD, quick release clamp set, supplementary counterweight bar, and counterweight. You are ready to start shooting immediately after attaching a commercially available ball head to the dovetail slide bar and mounting your camera on it.

With its excellent tracking accuracy, the AP Photo Guider allows you to take photos of stars without guiding corrections for the length of several minutes of exposures.

The PF-LII polar alignment scope allows you to easily align the AP Photo Guider within an accuracy of three arc minutes. The scope's red illuminated reticle becomes gradually dimmer after a certain interval of time and turns off automatically.

The AP Photo Guider is supported by an adjustable tripod, with three-piece aluminum legs that extend from 22.4 to 51."

Q: 2. Would it work with Nikon 120-300?

A: No, the Wimberley AP-555 Replacement Foot for Select Nikon Telephoto Lenses is not compatible with the Nikon AF-S 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR Lens. Wimberley recommends the AP-551 plate for that lens, BH #WIRFNAP55 (https://bhpho.to/2wP2v1E).

Q: 3. I have a Canon T6s with a 500mm telephoto lens and 2X Lens on that. Will the Vixen Optics 3562 Piggyback Fine Adjustment Unit DX support this? What is the actual weight limit?

A: I do not recommend using this for your set up. It won't be sturdy enough from what it's showing. The head is only 12oz, so I really don't think this will work. My apologies.

Q: 4. Can I mount this plate directly on Sachtler 0707 FSB-8 Fluid Head ?

A: Yes, the plate is tapped for both 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 tripod mounting so it will work fine.

Q: 5. Will this foot fit in Nikon 600mm f4G? and will this foot fit the RRS BH-55 Ballhead with Clamp release?

A: For the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4G ED VR Lens you need the Wimberley Replacement Foot for Nikon 400mm f2.8 and 600mm f/4.0 AF-S B&H # WIFN400. It will work with most Really Right Stuff clamps and ballheads.(The exception would be the RRS lever-release clamp.)

Q: 6. Is it possible to remove the cross hairs?

A: The Vixen Optics 100mm Finder Eyepiece does not allow for the cross hair reticle to be removed.

Q: 7. Has anyone, or can it, be used for polar alignment of small camera drives/rotators?

A: The Vixen Optics Piggyback 1/4"-20 Fine Adjustment DX BH #VIPBAUDX • MFR #3562 can be used for Geared Alt/Az Movements It is possible for polar alignment .

Q: 8. is it compatible with HEQ5?

A: This model has not been tested on that scope, but based on the Manufacturer this model will not work on the HEQ5.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with vixen porta II tall mount?

A: Yes, the Vixen Optics eSG Half Pillar can be used with the Vixen Optics Porta II Tall Alt-Azimuth Mount.

Q: 10. Do these knobs come with 6mm or 8mm couplings, or neither?

A: The knobs are the same size that came with the Vixen AP, GP2, and GPD2 Mounts originally.

[3] This is exactly what I needed--a simple, effective, and portable star tracker at a decent price. Yes, it fits in the bag nicely. The device is very well built. No messing with WiFi connections in the dark and cold as my other tracker requires. There are some trade-offs in terms of carrying capacity and longer exposures are difficult. It is the right balance of attributes for me. Money well spent. 5

[3] Flip mirror works well but to save time don't forget to purchase 2female to 2 Inner Diameter Barrel Rear (I got Tele Vue Schmidt-Cassegrain Adapter - Long for my Celestron Next Star 8 SCT). My set up: SCTelescope - Tele Vue Schmidt-Cassegrain Adapter-Long - Vixen Flip Mirror - T-Mount for Canon EF-M(screw in directly without rear tube)- Canon M. As usual B&H service is great. 5

[3] This is a great little unit up until I started using this flip mirror I was having a hard time taking photos with my universal set up this eliminates all of the vibrations in the telescope and allows me to really zoom into my target while the telescope slews .. great product....phil 5
