Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do you prevent the ends from flopping around? The joints on the end don't look like they lock. They spin and swivel freely. I have an identical item and I don't know how to get it to hold my monitor without falling over.

A: Tighten the knob more. It locks all of the moving parts.

Q: 2. How many pounds will this hold? Thanks.

A: Though not rated for weight load, this arm will work with products like 7 video monitors. So no more than 3 lbs.

Q: 3. Is there a Canon battery plate available?

A: Unfortunately we do not have a Canon battery plate available for this monitor. Keep in mind this kit does come with a Sony NP-F style battery and charger.

Q: 4. How do I get a new one? Mine broke after 5 months of light use.

A: You can purchase a new one for we still sell it. Pearstone 11 Articulating Arm B&H # PEAA83. Or your could go for one higher on the food chain such as the SHAPE 11 Magic Arm B&H # SHMA11. Or you could contact the distributor of Pearstone and see what they can do for you. a href= http://www.gradusgroup.com/support target= _blank www.gradusgroup.com/support/a

Q: 5. Can I use this kit on a Ronin-M without extra accessories? thanks

A: Yes, you could use this kit to clamp a monitor or accessory on to the Ronin-M. It includes both the arm and clamp, you would not require anything else. You could also look in to the GyroVu 7 Articulated Arm Monitor Mount for DJI Ronin-M. This has a mount designed specifically for the Ronin-M's 25mm top rail bar.

Q: 6. Will this mount to a moza lite 2 gimbal?

A: As the Atom Clamp has a jaw opening of about 1.3 , that should clamp to the top crossbar of the Moza. Both ends of the articulating arm have a standard 1/4=20 threaded stud on them, which can screw into tapped holes on a rig or other accessories like the Atom Clamp, coldshoe adapter, etc.Clamp this only to the top cross bar as clamping to any of the moving parts may throw off the balance enough that the servos won't be able to adequately compensate for it.

Q: 7. I'm using the Pearstone 4.2 (10.7cm) Articulating Arm to mount a Tascam dr70 onto a Sony a7S Camera Rig ES-T16. I have mounted a video light and external monitor to the 2 shoe mounts. I don't see a way to mount the Tascam into one of the holes in the cage without having to turn the whole arm (rather than being able to tighten the knob to secure the male end of the screw into the hole). What am I missing? thanks!

A: You have it right. You have to turn the whole arm into the screw hole, tighten it, then adjust the arm using the large knob.

Q: 8. I have the SmallHD 701 lite, will this support the monitor?

A: This arm will support your monitor.. The only issue is that you will have to really tighten it. This arm tends to loosen randomly.

Q: 9. Does the shoe mount side unscrew further to reveal another male thread? (aka two male threaded sides?) I would use this to clamp to my Ronin-M but I would need one male thread to go into the clamp and another male end to go into the monitor. (If not, can anyone recommend one). -thanks!

A: Yes

Q: 10. Do the monitor installation screws come with the mount?

A: I bought three of these and use them with 27 inch monitors. They are well built, stable and adjustable. These mounts come with a full complement of mounting hardware. I highly recommend these quality mounts.

[Arm / ] This arm is very well-built and has a solid feel to it. It works - and it works well. It's probably not the lightest arm - but it's not like it will be the straw that breaks the camel's back... I have this on an Ikan Tilta universal rig, which is heavy as it is!

[Arm / ] I know there r cheaper arms on the site. However their ability to hold a monitor makes them worthless. Locks into place like a charm

[Arm / ] At first I wasn't 100% sure if it would be able to CAME-TV Monitor with it's large Battery as I walk around with my VariZoom Shoulder rig for a 8-10 event. The Articulate Arm handles it with no problem. The grooves helps hold the Monitor in place with out it slowly falling down as the day goes on. Greatly quality all Metal parts and no plastic!!!! With my Panasonic UX90 I used the Impact Female 1/4-20 to Male 3/8-16 Thread Adapter so it can attach more towards the middle for weight distribution.

[Arm / ] Like so much video equipment cine arms range in price from this to hundreds of dollars, well beyond my budget. This exceeded my expectations for an inexpensive arm, and holds our 7 Lilliput monitor really well.

[Arm / ] Not a perfect 90degree on the edges, (has the visible skew seen in the product photos) but it works as intended. I can watch Netflix on the treadmill with this thing.

[Arm / ] I use this just like a mini Magic Arm to mount flashes and other small things to my camera. The arm has standard 1/4-20 mounting studs on both ends, providing strong mounting. Also provided are adapters for hot-shoe mounting (something I don't recommend for heavier objects). Once I have my object in the desired position, tightening the knob locks the whole thing solidly. It adds a bit of weight, but not too much. Great for adding a flash to a hand-held macro rig.
