A: The version 3 clip works with both version 2 and clip plate, but the version 2 clip does not accept version 3 plate. Version 3 plate is thinner and lighter. They also make plate which is usable for manfrotto clamp, and others are for arca swiss compatible clamp (with screw to tighten).

A: Capture can be attached to any backpack strap, bag, or belt less than 3" wide. Also, if the strap is a bit wider, you can always pinch the strap in to make it work and utilize the long clamping bolts.
