Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this film work/be compatible with a vintage Spartaflex camera?

A: Yes, the Ilford SFX 200 Infrared 120 Black and White Print Film will be compatible with a Spartaflex camera, and other medium format cameras that use 120 type film.

Q: 2. Im learning to develop B&W negatives on my own. Since this is a chromogenic film, can this film be developed in the standard B&W developing process or would this require a different process?

A: I would not try to personally develop this film. There are professional labs that still develop it in c-41 chemistry. I only work in 120 film and it is my film of choice if I want to make HUGE enlargements in B&W. It has a wide latitude and is extremely sharp. T. Nell (marina my wife, placed the order)

Q: 3. is it 35mm film ?

A: No, this is the 120/medium format version of Ilfordd FP4. You can find the 35mm version here:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp/a

Q: 4. Is everyone using this at the standard ISO or are you pushing or pulling it? Is so what are the effects?

A: Ilford SFX 200 Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) can be push-processed to ISO 400 or ISO 800. Ilford suggest using ILFOTEC DD-X or MICROPHEN (stock) developer when push-processing.

Q: 5. What's the difference between rpx25 and rollei pan25 that was discontinued a few years ago?

A: It doesn't seem to be any difference as far as I can tell. There is no information online and after shooting both, there is no significant differences in the look.

Q: 6. How flat is this film when using a flat bed scanner? Does it had a strong curl?

A: FP4 has a transparent purple base. It does scan well on a flatbed with a rear light element but you will want to white balance the base if scanning in color before printing.

Q: 7. Pls provide more details on developers, working solution ratio, developing time & temperature?

A: Film Photography Project Frankenstein 200 ISO Black & White Film (4 x 5", 25 Sheets) can be processed by any standard black and white developer, such as D-76 (KOD76DEV), HC-110 (KOHC110DEV), or XTOL (KOXTOLDEV), at varying times, depending on the temperature and dilution of the developer.

Q: 8. For scanning with a flat bed scanner, will the developed film lay flat?

A: Depending on the scanner, there is usually a guide that will hold Kentmere Pan 100 Black & White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) flat for scanning.

Q: 9. Is there still a defect with the 120 format? There has been an issue with a defective backing

A: The defective paper issue with the Rollei Retro 80S Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) was resolved sometime in 2021. Our current films are not showing any paper defect.

Q: 10. how many exposures on this roll? Is it the same as the cotton candy roll, and aiming for 24 exposures?

A: The dubble film Pacific 200 Color Negative Film (120 Roll) is medium format film. As such, it will depend on the medium format camera (or camera back) you are using on how many exposures you will get on a roll. It also depends on how the film is loaded. If you have a 6x4.5 camera, you will get approximately 15 or 16 frames on a roll. If you have a 6x6 camera, you will get approximately 12 frames on a roll. If you have a 6x7 camera, you will get approximately 10 frames on a roll. If you have a 6x8 camera, you will get approximately 9 frames on a roll. If you have a 6x9 camera, you will get approximately 8 frames on a roll. Finally, if you have a 6x10 camera, you will get approximately 7 frames on a roll.

[120] For the price, this is great film! I think it's pretty much like Arista EDU stock, which I've gotten used to using. It shoots at ISO 200 fine without any modifications to development.

[120] This is a good, classic emulsion with a decent amount of silver. Nice, medium-fine grain, excellent sharpness. Works very well with D-76, D-23, and HC110 which all give good contrast. Also got some good results with Diafine. The base has a slight curl.
