It features focus scales marked in both feet and meters, with focus and iris marks on both sides of the lens. The lens also features built-in focus and iris gears, and it has a 270° of focus throw.

The T2.2 maximum aperture enables working in difficult lighting conditions and offers increased control over the depth of field. Q: 1. Am trying to choose between the 35mm and the 24 mm for my bmpcc 4k. I have no experience with videography. I need 3 meike lens for music video filming and am gambling between 16mm, 35mm, and 50mm. I have seen that the 12mm and 25mm have more reviews. what 3 lens combinations would you suggest i buy? Thank you

A: A good standard 3 lens setup, for a micro-four thirds sized sensor camera (such as the Blackmagic pocket 4K), in the choices of Meike lenses, would be the 12mm (wide), a 25mm (normal), and 50mm (telephoto). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1502600-REG/meike_mk12t2_2m4_3_12mm_t2_2_manual_focus.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1451856-REG/meike_mk25f2_2m4_3_t2_2_25mm_manual_focus_cinema.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1539466-REG/meike_mk50mmt2_2m4_3_50mm_t2_2_manual_focus.html

Q: 2. Does this particular lens work on micro 4/3 such as the black magic pocket 4k camera? Because I don’t see this lens support that system

A: Yes, this is an MFT mount lens which will work on the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K which also has an MFT mount.

Q: 3. Is this lens weather sealed?

A: Meike does not state that the Meike 35mm T2.2 Cinema Prime Lens (X-Mount, Feet/Meters) is weather sealed.

Q: 4. Is there a set with a case option?

A: As of right now there is no case made specifically for this model lenses. However, the case for the pervious model will fit: BH #MEMKCINECASE

Q: 5. Is this lens compatible with Canon R5C ?

A: Yes, the Meike 35mm T2.2 Super35 Cinema Prime Lens (Canon RF) is compatible with the Canon EOS R5C, you must shoot in super 35 or super 16 to not have vignettes.

Q: 6. I notice that the description of this says "Micro Four Thirds Sensor Coverage". Does this mean that this will be a 50mm on my MFT sensor camera? Other lenses from this lineup seem to have APS-C coverage, so I am confused as to which sensor size this will cover.

A: The Meike 50mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (MFT Mount) is a 50mm lens and as such, any 50mm lens will appear as 100mm on a Micro Four Thirds sensor. Micro Four Thirds sensors will always display approximately 2x the focal length equivalent when compared to full frame sensors (which is the standard "measuring stick" for lens focal lengths), based on the numerical data of the lens focal length, regardless of the mount type or intended sensor. The term "Micro Four Thirds Sensor Coverage", in this case, means the lens would be appropriate for a Micro Four Thirds sensor.

Q: 7. Will this fit and work properly on the Sony PXW-FS5 MK2?

A: With the proper EF to E mount adapter, the Meike 100mm T2.1 Super35 Cinema Prime Lens (EF Mount) would work well on the Sony PXW-FS5 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System.

Q: 8. What is the lens length?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (E Mount), is a special order item that we unfortunately do not have direct access to. The manufacturer does not state the actual size, but based on other Meike lenses which we can test, the packaging takes up about 2-3" in length and the packaging length is 6", which would put this lens at approximately 3-4" in length.

Q: 9. Is this the same optical design as found in earlier lenses from Meike or new design?

A: The manufacturer claims that the Meike 10mm T2.2 Cine Lens (RF Mount) BH #MEMK10T22RF has evolved since its earlier models. We are not able to determine if the overall optical or mechanics have been redesigned or simply updated/refreshed.

Q: 10. What is the image circle diameter? Basically, if I was using a Super 35 sensor, would a MFT mount cover it or would an E-mount be needed? Or are both mounts the same coverage? Thanks!

A: According the manufacturer this lens should cover an APS-C or Super35mm Sized Sensor.

[T22] While I didn't order this lens from B&H, I wanted to leave my thoughts here regardless so that I can maybe help others.

At the time I'm writing this, it's been almost a year of having this lens, and I can honestly and objectively say, this is my favorite lens that I've used with my Blackmagic Pocket 4K. It's excellent.

Optically beautiful. While it has a more flat look than other cine lenses with more character, I don't have a lot of money to rent lenses for projects, so owning a lens that can behave like a chameleon is great. I can use this lens as a base, and then design the look of the project with lighting or post-production. Technically it's also great, with basically no focus breathing and low chromatic aberration (still present, but easy to correct).

Build quality is great. The only true competitor is Rokinon, which are plastic. This lens is built like a tank, with a metal housing, nice 77mm filter thread, and buttery-smooth focus and aperture gears. It's small and compact, which helps keep my rig minimal, but if I want to build it out with a matte box and follow focus, I can because of its standard cine-style design.

There's a couple quirks, but they're minimal. The lens caps are a bit odd. On the front cap, I would prefer a slip-on design like other cine lenses, but this has a squeeze/clip-on design similar to still lenses. The rear cap is strange too, it only attaches in one specific way. It's hard to explain, but I have to fiddle with it to get it to stay, which is inconvenient when I'm in a rush or in the dark.

Overall, this is an excellent lens, and I plan on getting a couple more in the lineup to complete my set. I have zero regrets purchasing this, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly choice that feels and performs better than Rokinon.

Sorry for the long review! I just had a lot to say. Bonus points if you read it all. Have a great day, everyone.

[Canon RF] Has a nice cold heavy feel in your hand, snaps on to the camera and really gets in there. I use this indoors to shoot art with zero distortion. Love it. It pairs wonderfully with my Z-CAM E2C, and makes for some great 4k footage

[Canon RF] For some years now I've been shooting with Rokinon glass and enjoying my lenses greatly. However, these lenses have been a little difficult to use on my JDI gimbal and with my edelkrone head-1 & follow focus. Without elaborating the details it occurred to me a smaller lighter set of lenses would be easier to work with. I found the Meike primes with the MFT mount. These have proved to be a great answer! They are decidedly smaller, lighter and in my opinion, sharper. The issues with the follow focus before are gone. They balance much easier on my gimbal, especially when swapping. They show little breathing when compared to my Rokinon glass. I have no idea how they would compare to the Zeiss compact primes, except to say they are about 1/10th the price of the Zeiss.

[Canon RF] Rather than go with full frame, I've been shooting with the more economical APS-C lenses and they've been working out great. Be sure to adapt your settings on the Canon, as it is full manual. I have become a huge fan of cine lenses because they are built beautifully, with smooth focus and aperture rings. Super sharp, handles focus pull cleanly with no perceivable focus breathing. Love these Meike lenses! I'm buying them one at a time, as budget permits. And thankfully, they are at a very reasonable price given their high quality and special purpose. Not feeling any urge to go back to photography lenses these days, and certainly questioning whether to return to OEM Canon lenses, since these are 1/10th the price.

Sensacional

[T2.2] Very good image and build quality. Focus and aperture rings are super smooth and responsive. It's my first cine style lens and now I understand it's appeal. Highly recommended.

[T22] After Veydra shut down the market for relatively inexpensive MFT Cinema Primes got even smaller. Meike has stepped in to take over that niche. The Meike 50mm is a solid, well built lens that gives a lot of bang-for-the-buck. I use it with the Blackmagic 4K Pocket Cinema Camera and it works great. I plan on acquiring a full set of Meike Cinema lenses. Prime lenses are the building blocks of Cinema Grammar and any true filmmaker should aspire to own a set. Zooms are for children...

[Super35/APS-C] I have all the Meike cine lenses and use them on my S35 cameras as well as my MFT cameras. Love the build and the focus throw.
