A: It has LEDS (Light Emitting Diodes). Two triangular and one circular LED: • Jointly used as light balance for exposure compensation, • Left triangular LED used as a warning if below the metering range.

Q: 2. if one uses a 35mm prime lens and need to blow up a region in a negative that was the real subject it would have to be done using an enlarger when printing to the print paper?

A: To enlarge a portion of the image, you would need to either use an enlarger in a darkroom or you can use a film scanner, printer and a computer.

Q: 3. Why is there no Logo on front, top, or back of camera???

A: It is just a design on this Leica film camera not to have a Leica logo.

Q: 4. What flash unit is compatible with this camera? Preferably a low cost option of one exists.

A: If you are looking for a flash that has manual output control (as the Leica M-A (Typ 127) Rangefinder Camera is not compatible with TTL flashes), then the Bolt VD-410 Manual Flash, B&H # BOMHSF, would be the most economical recommendation, while the Yongnuo YN560-IV Speedlite, B&H # YOYN560IV, would be a much more powerful flash for a slightly higher price output. If you are simply looking for an inexpensive manual flash and do not need output control, then the Holga Holgon Manual Electronic Flash, B&H # HOMF, would be a low-cost option for your needs.

Q: 8. How often does the battery for the light meter have to be replaced? Is the battery readily available for purchase?

A: The Leica MP 0.72 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera uses two (2) SR44(76S) 1.55v Silver Battery or one (1) DL76 Lithium battery to power the camera. Depending on the camera's usage, the battery should last between 6 months to a year on average. That being said, as the camera is all mechanical and only the internal light meter is powered by the camera's battery, the camera is still able to be operated without a battery.

Q: 9. Can the EVF be used with any of the current Leica film cameras?

A: Because an EVF relies on an electronic connection with the image sensor, it would not be compatible with a film camera.

Q: 10. Does the camera fit a voigtlander VM mount lens?

A: Any lens with a Voigtlander VM mount will safely mount to any Leica M mount camera.

[0.015 lb] When it comes to rangefinders, this is the goat. It will outlast you. There is nothing quite like it. I don't even want to look at the re-issue M6. The value of the MP will appreciate as evident by its steadily increased pricing over the years. When you pass this camera to your grandchildren, they will appreciate the value. Need I say more? 5

[Black Black] I enjoy using all kinds of cameras for various types of photography, including Nikon SLRs I can praise endlessly. That being said, this is the pinnacle of simplicity and function. With this you just make pictures with ease and accuracy and mechanical perfection. You will want nothing more and get nothing less than what you need. A huge selection of lenses from leica to Voigtlander will give you anything you want at any price point but with the solid foundation of a camera body that just works. There is nothing like a brand new MP. 5

[Black Black] This is simply an outstanding film rangefinder camera, but let's be honest, most of the Leica film bodies are wonderful. The build quality is top notch. The MP viewfinder is improved over the M6 (classic) with less/no flare, smoother operation and quieter shutter. Overall such a joy to use. 5

[0.015 lb] If you are a Leica fan, a 35mm film shooter, and believe in the virtues of the rangefinder system, the MP will satisfy your needs. It is a lot of money, but it is a brilliant piece of gear that will do what you want it to do. I use two other Leica cameras, M6's, so this the perfect addition to my system. You will be glad you made the purchase. 5

[0.015 lb] Leica MP is simply the best, there is no way around it. However, buying my first Leica with BHphoto is probably the best decision I’ve had. I had experience with Adorama but BHphoto customer service is far superior. No return return fees (Adorama does make you pay return fees), exchange/return convenience, and fast shipping. If you decide between the two, BHphoto would be the best option as it gives you a peace of mind knowing that they will take care their customer. I had an issue with the first order and had to exchanged it. I called them and explained the situation and they exchanged it with no questions asked. Simply the best customer service by far. It reminds me of REI customer service (if you live in PNW you’ll know what I’m talking about). They have a customer for life. Thank you, BHphoto! 5
