A: You would actually need a capture device, not a simple converter, to ingest the footage from analog sources. A: Not much to set up. As I recall there are some switches on it to set as. I connected it and flipped the switches until I stumbled onto the right combination.

Q: 9. Is there a way to go from VGA to BNC male for this? Would RGBHV work if I just didn't use the H & V cables?

A: Most likely not. RGB does not carry sync, so you would need H and V inputs. You will need a VGA to SDI scaler. Hope this aswers the question
