Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a way to substitute a lens in the kit?

A: Cinema lens kits are sold in color and contrast matched sets firstly. Secondly, we are not able to substitute lenses in a lens set.

Q: 2. I want to use this with the Canon 100-400 IS I. Do I need an extra less Plate? If so which one would you recommend?

A: Hi There,Yes, you will need an ARCA Swiss plate for this Gimble. Now, this is a good question what kind of plate you need and I can not specifically tell you since I have no such lens to try on my gimble. But I can give you some guidelines:You have a tripod leg for that lens and it has its size. I also assume that it is a fairly short leg with only one screw mount in it.Now, if you are looking for the aesthetic point of view you might be considering an ARCA plate with same length like your lens leg, but if you want to be able to play with the balance fo the camera + Lens in the gimble, I recommend you to buy a little longer plate. This will allow you to slide the plate on the gimple to find the balance position . A balance position is a position where the camera mounted on the gimble is staying balanced hands free . I know it doesn't sounds like a big deal but believe me it is more than just a nice to have .Another important point is that the plate will have the limiters both sides. Those limiters are small screws that are stopping the plate to slide off the gimble (look at the gimble image - where you put the plate - it has like two canals, one in each side). Now the next question is which plate brand should you buy. for this I have no sharp answer. I think that the brand is less important here unless it is really cheap and you fill like it is going to be unsafe to use.I have bought the below P50 plate but it was for a much bigger lens with much bigger leg.You can also see in that one that there is a screw hole at the end of the plate for the stopper/limmiter.And also make sure you are using the correct thread for your lens (1/4 or 3/8 ). if needed buy also an adapter.Hope it helps.Enjoy,Guy

Q: 3. I have the Jobu replacement foot for my Canon RF 600mm. Will this foot work with this Gimbal head?

A: Yes it is compatible.

Q: 4. Will this head works for my Sigma 150-600mm 5-6.3 Sports lens, which is the Sports Model weighing over 6 lb. by itself, plus the camera body ?

A: I use it with a Tamron 150-600 and a Canon 70D with battery pack and it is smooth as glass. You should have no problems at all with your Sigma.

Q: 5. Does aperture maintain throughout zoom?

A: On the ZEISS LWZ.3 zoom lens, the aperture ramping is linear from 21mm - 100mm, meaning as you rack the zoom at wide open aperture, the light transmission changes from T2.9 - T3.9 in continuous, even steps.

Q: 6. Can I use this also as a normal tripod head with the base plate on the camera bottom and a regular sized lens i.e. 50mm? Dual purpose is the question. Enough space to the right for a normal sized DSLR.

A: Yes. You would just lock the vertical rotation arm and open the horizontal lock. The gimbal will just rotate left to right all the way around if you want. Smaller lenses are no prob but I would yes the Arca quick release plate attached to thr camera. This is a great Gimbal.

Q: 7. Has anybody used this with a Nikon d300, battery pack, and 400mm 3.5 with teleconverter? Weighs a little under 10lbs.

A: Not your specific configuration, but I have been using it with a Canon 7Dii camera and a 100-400mm lens and also with a Tamron 150-600. The only problem I have had is the balance when I change from 100 to the full reach, but that should be expected; I just modify the balance arrangement and it works fine. I plan on using the camera with a rented 500mm in June. So far, I have been very pleased with this gimbal head.

Q: 8. I'm looking for a scope that can tell me the elevation (in degrees) of an object with respect to the horizon. Sorta like a sextant for navigation, but in a compact monocular or binocular system. Any ideas??? Thank you so much!!!

A: Unfortunately we don't have anything like that.

Q: 9. It says that you need an Arca-Swiss plate to use with it. I will be using an Oben ac-1410 tripod. Can you refer me to what plate would be best to order?

A: Depending on the telephoto lens that you are using, different lengths of Arca-Swiss plates will be appropriate to attach. The following chart will show you which Wimberly (another maker of gimbal heads that use Arca-Swiss releases) plate will support your lens best. Just type in the model number of the specific plate into our search bar. (example: P10 plate)http://bhpho.to/1aJndNaorClick the link in the description of this product:B&H # WITHQRQ ? Mfr # WH-200

Q: 10. Will this case work for any 10x50 binocular? I own an Olympus 118760 Trooper.

A: My 7x50 binoculars measure roughly 7 x 2.5 x 8. This Lg. Binobag case fits just perfectly. I am very pleased and have happily disposed Strap comes in quite handy too.

[3 to 18x] I bought this scope thinking it's only $99 bucks. I'll take a chance.
I'm done with $49 scopes. They're mostly junk with a few exceptions.
I received the scope from H&M and immediately put it on my Umarex Gauntlet .22 air rifle. WOW, was I surprised !!! It was not only CRYSTAL CLEAR, but the 4-12 magnification makes a huge difference. Objects seem like they are right in front of you. This is better than ANY Hawke scope I own.
