The Slik Pro AL-323-3W Tripod with Arca-Type Pan-Tilt Headfrom Slik Pro AL-323-3W Tripod with Arca-Type Pan-Tilt Headis a versatile tripod with a load capacity of 8.8 pounds and a maximum height of 75.5" with the center column fully extended. The legs feature flip-lock joints for quick setup and the Rapid Flip Mechanism (R.F.M.) allows the legs angles to be spread for easy leveling on uneven surfaces, or for shooting from low angles. The center column is removeable and reversible for shooting with the camera inverted to almost ground level. The center column is made up of two segments, the short column section allows the legs to be spread for very low perspective shooting.

The included SH-747 3-Way Pan-Tilt Head is Arca-type compatible and includes a quick release plate. It allows precision movement on each axis individually, without changing the other axis settings. This precision control is suited to precision position for cameras, spotting scopes, and binoculars.

A: I would recommend the Ruggard Deluxe Padded 35 Tripod case.It has two internal straps to hold the tripod from moving.Also, if you plan on using a heaver camera or lens with this Tripod, please look into getting the Manfrotto 200PLARCH-14 Architectural Anti-Twist Quick Release Plate with 1/4-20 Screw to eliminate Camera Creep/Slipage when using the Tripod in Vertical/Portrate mode.

[90°] This is a plastic, cheap tripod which will not stand up to the toughest field use. So why 5 stars? Because I don’t need a rugged, precision built tripod with a quality fluid head which can support a 7-pound ENG video camera. I already have one of those. I found myself needing just-enough tripod to hold a static, second video camera for a music performance. This is perfect for that. The head is smooth enough for an unartful pan with a wide focal length, but I didn’t even try that. You get what you pay for, and this product meets that immediate need. 5

[Pan & Tilt Head] For quick family trips on the go where we needed a portable tripod for group shots, mounting binos (including digiscoping with iPhones) and video, I originally purchased a Slik Sprint Pro III, primarily due to its travel-friendly weight (2.1 lbs) and usable height of 62. Nevertheless I found the stability sorely lacking. For the same price, I decided to step up to the Pro AL-323 and found its additional 0.8 lbs and 2.5" folded length well worth it. Besides doubling the load capacity (8.8 lbs. vs. 4.4 lbs.) it was much easier to use, especially when deploying the larger flip locks. The AL-323's center column also adds a weight hook for enhanced stability. Very happy with my decision. One caveat - the included bag is extremely thin and flimsy. It's almost exclusively for storage, not carry. I immediately replaced it with an inexpensive padded model. 5

[Aluminum] I purchased this after buying some garbage tripod made by pro master at my local camera store. The price point was excellent, and I liked the metal construction. Some pieces don’t feel as sturdy, like the crank handle and other adjusting components, so just plan on going gentle on them if you want them to last. Overall it’s quick to set up. I am using it mostly for outdoor night shots and it’s been pretty easy to quickly get out of the car, drop the legs, and mount the camera. 5

[Flip Lock] This replaces one that I lost. I use it mostly to mount an audio recorder or a small b-roll video camera. It's fine for lightweight video camera that is stationary. Not ideal for panning to tilting while shooting. Small profile when folded making it easy to carry. Extremely well made and I'd buy another Slik product based on build quality and design. 5

[Flip Lock] This is a very nice, stable rig for my Fuji Finepix S-1; it is replacing an older model Slik I've had for a number of years now (U6600) since I wanted something a little taller and stronger-built yet not massive. I'm learning the ins and outs of HDR and Time-lapse, both of which activities mandate using a tripod. I should add (for the sake of the purists shaking their heads at this point) that I'm not a pro; strictly amateur, trying to learn something while having a bit of fun at the same time with somewhat limited means.
