The EVE E-100Z is an ellipsoidal LED spot fixture with a built-in dimmer and DMX control. It is primarily designed for use in a theatrical lighting grid, but it can also be used in film and video productions. Dimming the fixture is controllable locally or via DMX choosing dimming with either 1 or 3 channels of control. Manual zoom and focus adjustment lets you tune your light's coverage, which can be further refined with the included framing shutters. A built-in LED info screen aids you in navigating the menu system.

The EVE E-100Z incorporates an internal gobo slot that accepts glass or metal gobos. This enables you to project a shape or image, and the zoom and focus knobs allow you to control the size and focus of the image. The included gel frame enables placing a gel or diffusion in front of the ellipsoidal. The neutral yoke features three pre-drilled holes that you can use to mount your choice of clamps or stand adapters. The integrated safety loop provides a secure point for a safety cable when hanging the fixture from a grid.

A: My daylight version has a fan-like noise and i can feel air blowing off of it when turned on. So, without proving it by taking it apart, i can still fairly safely say it has a fan. I would not have bought this because of it if I had realized it in time to return. Genaray should've noted fan noise in description. It's not good for interviews or anything quiet.

A: In spot mode, the Genaray Contender LED Focusing Spot Light with Battery Module Kit (Daylight) has a rapid but feathered edge to the light. If you watch the video on our webpage, they show the transition of the light from spot to flood against a wall starting around the 1:18 mark on the video.

Q: 10. Are these instant-on lights? Other genaray lights I have take 2 seconds to light up after power is switched on.

A: While the Genaray Contender LED Focusing Spot Light is not an instant-on light and does not instantaneously illuminate, the illumination time should be faster than 2 seconds.

[CE, MET] I bought two of these. They have a lot of nice features and are easily set up. I got one hung and it worked perfectly, although for our stage it was a pretty wide wash. We may put barn doors on it. We have about a 24’ throw from that position. For the other light, we accidentally put it through an abuse test. It got dropped from a 12’ height onto a concrete floor. The lens broke into several pieces and a two inch chunk of the metal case broke off. Amazingly enough, we put in the second lens and it worked fine. No LED or circuitry failure. Very tough little light. We are going to use it until it chooses to fail. 5

[29.5 x 12 x 12"] I write Timelines in Chauvet Showxpress in which I play my drums along to a song with a full blown lightshow in sync with the song. (yes my kids make fun of me. Call it my 2nd midlife crisis). I have currently 4 Thin tri-pars and 2 ADJ Moving spots. Along with an old Moonbeam for special effects. I added in the Scorpion Dual Beam laser to one song so far. It totally rocks, as it streams above the drumset and audience (yes some brave folk come by to watch occasionally). A great addition. Its really bright, and really pops with smoke/fog. I had to learn some DMX tricks in the SW for smooth transitions. (use the square wave transitions, not the smoothing one and it will work properly). I think you will love it. Practice laser safety please. 5

[CE, MET] Needed a good ellipsoidal for field video work but didn't want to shell out big $ for it. This was the perfect fit. Plenty of punch, and it comes with a zoom lens so I can scale the pattern to fit the background properly. Love it! It's got a little bit of fan noise, but hasn't been a problem yet. 5

[50,000 hours] This light was more than I imagined it would be. It looks great, and the light is bright for a smaller location (house, small gym). If you are planning on using it without DMX, keep in mind that you basically have two options: you can set the light on one non-moving setting, or you can set it to demo mode where it goes crazy with different colors, movement, and such. The demo mode is fun, but if you maybe want everything but the strobe light you don't have that option to turn off strobe. So if you are looking for some fun to spice up a DJ setup, go for it. However, it seems like if you have a DMX setup you can really take advantage of all the settings. I liked it so much I bought another! 5

[CE, MET] I bought four of these to incorporate into a permanent install, and to travel to smaller events. The lights were very easy to install - I was up and running in minutes. Programming is intuitive - from the menu on the back of the light, an IRC remote, and a lighting console. The only caveat to that is the ability to dim or turn off the lights. I had to set the light to a static color (like red), then turn the intensity of the color to 0%. This in effect turns off the light. The lights are very portable, and just what I wanted to bring some life to a school dance, special church event, etc. MelRae in Texas 5
