Encode or decode analog audio between a 3.5mm or XLR input and AES67 multicast streams with this Magewell Pro Convert AES67 Audio Converterfrom Magewell. The converter features 2-channel 3.5mm unbalanced input and output, and 2-channel 4.4mm balanced input and output. An RJ45 Ethernet port transmits or receives up to 8-channel AES67 encoded multicast and unicast encoded streams and 4-channel 24-bit streams for use with Icecast, SRT, or NDI streaming.

The converter can also output UAC audio via the USB-B port for use with applications that support UAC. The included XLR cable adapters plug into the 4.4mm ports to connect a variety of XLR sources and destinations. You can configure and control the converter using an easy-to-use WebUI or by using Magewell Cloud.

A: Yes, the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to SDI Decoder supports manually setting output resolution and frame rate. You will be able to select 1080p 29.97 as the output resolution.

Q: 2. Will this connect a XF705 to a Windows 10 desktop for live stream? Is there HDI and HDMI version?

A: The Magewell Pro Convert SDI 4K Plus will do what you wish. There are only SDI or HDMI versions.

Q: 3. What is the purpose of the bracket that ships with this device? How is it used? It is not obvious to me.

A: The L bracket is a mounting accessory that does not necessarily need to be used but is included to facilitate a specifically designed mounting option.

Q: 4. Can this up or down scale to a HDMI input to NDI at 2160p29.97Hz (not 30Hz)?

A: No, The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus does not support 4k encoding. Please use the Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus BH #MA64010 thttps://bhpho.to/3zgjsiO Also, the input frame rate needs to be 29.97Hz or 59.94Hz so that the encoder is able to output at 29.97Hz.

Q: 5. I'm using this with my Avid Media Composer on my laptop to get a clean reference monitor signal out. The audio is out of sync. Its ahead of the avid playback. Is there something to adjust to fix this?

A: NDI introduces delay therefore we typically don't recommend using NDI in an editing scenario. if your goal is to have the audio and video in sync you will need to output both the Audio and the video via NDI.

A: no it can not upscale resolution

A: Yes, the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to SDI decodes MPEG-TS over SRT.

Q: 8. Will the Tricaster TC1 automatically pickup the audio without routing through Dante?

A: The Vizrt TriCaster TC1 would require a Dante License in order to recognize Dante audio streams created by the Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX. The The Vizrt TriCaster TC1 would be able to natively receive an NDI audio stream created by the Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX.

Q: 9. Can I attach three of these to 5 port switch and still get a good quality feed? They would each be bringing a different NDI signal.

A: That will depend on the speed of the Network Switch. We recommend Gigabit network switches and higher for NDI set ups.

Q: 10. Do we still need to configure this? Or just plug and play?

A: This product is going to require some level of configuration with one of the compatible software programs that you use it with. While it should be easy to use, it will not be plug-and-play.

[0 to 10,000 ms] Use these to send my program video to my announcers for sports productions. My production truck is all IP so I just choose my NDI Program source and plug in an HDMI cable to their monitors and perfect easy setup. And, now I can send multiple things to the monitor just by simply choosing a different NDI source and a quick switch is done. No routing needed. 5

[5 to 90%] I use this to pull a slide feed at livestreamed events. Overkill I know. But, like all Magewell, it's a very solid performer and will accept pretty much whatever you throw at it. The web interface is great. And full NDI not NDI-HX. 5

[0 to 10,000 ms] Using this to decode an NDI source to a projector in Church services with live stream. We previously were sending the Presentation Laptops screen to the OBS computer via NDI, and used a separate proprietary wireless video feed to the main projector. Got this so we can use the same NDI source for both and eliminate the wireless projector feed. It is working well. One thing to be aware of: the projector will display will go blank in a couple of seconds if there is no video and audio activity when using NDI Screen Capture as the source. This can be an issue during power points with static screens. You can set the decoder to keep the last thing displayed on the screen or allow it to go blank. I prefer it to go blank so I know something is wrong right away. You can also resolve by making sure the NDI Screen Capture is using an active audio source (like the microphone). This decoder has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Perhaps other decoders won't have the inactivity issue but they are also more expensive. This has not been a show stopper for us. 5

[Device: 5 W] This works great for my needs. Now I'm able to view SDI sources over the company network. I've connected this to the multiview out of a switcher in a remote room, so now I can see and control everything from anywhere on campus. I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can do with NDI to support more meetings at once. This one was for testing, so I'll be buying more of these soon. 5
