  • The EW-DX SK features a mute button that can be locked out and overridden from the receiver or a mobile device during a performance. It quickly pairs with the receiver via Bluetooth at a distance up to 120', at the press of a button.
  • The persistent e-Ink display helps you quickly name and identify the transmitter and allows you to see parameters, even when the unit is powered off.
  • The transmitter provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries (included) or 12 hours with a BA 70 lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack (available separately). External charging ports allow for in-transmitter charging using the CHG 70N network charging dock (available separately).
  • The EW-DX system utilizes an equidistant tuning grid that equally spaces 3200 frequencies across its wide 80 MHz bandwidth to prevent disruptive intermodulation issues that occur when multiple transmitters operate in confined spaces.
  • The system can be expanded with multiple transmitters and receivers to offer up to 134 channels in equidistant tuning grid mode, and up to 269 channels in Link Density mode.
  • The EW-DX SK is backward-compatible with EW-D receivers.

  • The sweat-resistant, subminiature MKE 2 omnidirectional lavalier mic offers a pristine, broadcast-quality sound and is easy to conceal.
  • The unobtrusive ME 2 omnidirectional lavalier mic provides a forgiving pickup pattern that captures sound equally well in every direction.
  • The ME 4 cardioid lavalier mic offers a narrower, feedback-resistant pickup pattern for louder events.
  • The ME 3 cardioid headset mic provides enhanced speech clarity for lectures and presentations.
  • The CI 1 instrument cable lets you connect the bodypack transmitter to a guitar, bass, or keyboard.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How to get line-level into the AVX? When I use the CL440 or CL2 cable it is mic-level and so very distorted.

A: What you will have to do is. Go into the menu on the transmitter to Sensitivity. It will probably be set -6dB drop it down till about -12dB and see if that does it. Either way you have to reduce the sensitivity and then compensate from the receiver by bringing up the AF out. AF out will be the output level to the camera.

Q: 2. on the input it says line/mic. What kind of cable is the used for line input?

A: That would be the Sennheiser CL-2 cable (B&H # SECL2 ). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/217589-REG/Sennheiser_CL2_CL_2_Transmitter_Line_Cable.html

Q: 3. How much difference does 30mw vs 50 mw have on reliability, reception and range?

A: Every milliwat may count when tolerances are very close. It sometimes can be a game of inches.

Q: 4. Hi there. Will this unit supply 48 V phantom power to a shotgun mic? Cheers

A: Hi Marc - the SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter doesn’t supply 48V phantom power, however, the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter does. If you’re working with a shotgun microphone that can be powered via battery or phantom powers - such as the MKE 600 - you could also use the SKP 100 G4 plug-on transmitter as a more cost effective solution. Alternately, a CM 1 XLR Female to 3.5mm locking connector adapter cable can also be used with the MKE 600 to connect it to a bodypack transmitter. For +48V phantom power, you’ll want to be looking at the 500 Series (EW 500 G4 BOOM, EW 500 G4 FILM or SKP 500 G4).

Q: 5. I want to mic a maximum of 12 performers with EW D. Do I need a variety of frequency bands? (4 each to cover 470 -600Mhz?)

A: You will be able to have a maximum of 90 transmitters per band, so if there is not significant interference in your area it should be alright to keep the same band for all systems.

Q: 6. what accu batteries can I use for Sennheiser SK 100 G4 transmitter ?

A: The below are compatible: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/324393-REG/Sennheiser_BA2015G2_BA_2015G2_Rechargeable_Battery.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/324394-REG/Sennheiser_L2015G2_Charging_Station.html Power Requirements Battery Battery Type 2 x AA (Included) 1 x Sennheiser Accupack (Not Included, Replaceable)

Q: 7. Does the transmitter provide phantom power for mics like MKH 8050?

A: No. The Sennheiser EW-D SK Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (R4-9: 552 to 607 MHz) will only supply a small amount of power for lavalier and headset microphones. It cannot supply 48V phantom power for larger condenser micrphones.

Q: 8. does this come with the AA battery sled, or the li-ion rechargable batt?

A: You would have to purchase the li-ion battery separately. B&H # SEBA30.

Q: 9. Looks like the antenna is non removable, anyone have info on that.

A: That is correct.

Q: 10. Hello. I want to use this transmitter with a Sennheiser XS receiver (EM-XSW1. This will be for an event in a fairly large venue (an ice rink). Will this combination have enough range? Will it cover the distance without adding static or white noise? Thanks.

A: The Sennheiser SK-XSW-A Bodypack Transmitter and EM-XSW1 Wireless Receiver can operate within a maximum range of up to approximately 200 to 250 feet line of sight. With the EM-XSW2 Wireless Receiver which has external antennas you can get a bit more distance.

[0.545 lb] When the FCC announced that the Range-B frequencies would no longer be available, I took that opportunity to replace all my old Sennheiser Frequency Range-B equipment with Range-A.  For the past 15 years I have found Sennheiser wireless equipment to be very good.  Highly recommended.

[Metal] The transmitter was purchased as an exact replacement for our previous transmitters. The last transmitter lasted over 5 years of daily use and, unfortunately, sometimes misuse. The new transmitter worked perfectly out of the box.

[25 kHz] They're solid. They don't feel cheap. of course, they're not. I'm usinf these with the ME 2ii lav mics and the
Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver and I'm very happy. One button synch to the receiver. I like the mute switch on top AND the battery display is nice.

[Bodypack] We all know this is the name to beat! Originally bought the receiver and handheld mic. Should’ve bought the full combo, because I came back to buy the body pack because I was so pleased with the original purchase of the receiver and handheld mic. Untouchable in my opinion. Clicks off all the boxes. The only question I am uncertain of, the salesman pushed me toward the less expensive off brand Sonal lapel mic, other than the Senn. It is awesome, very study and quality sound, but just curious of the difference with the Senn lapel would have made. Have read reviews the Sonal is better, sound and build quality So I am banking on that. Overall, don’t be scared to make the purchase. This is a brand to trust.
