The sounds were meticulously recorded with a pair of Sennheiser MKH 8040 microphones in a stereo X-Y configuration and a Sennheiser MKH 8050 and MKH 30 in a mid-side configuration. The nuanced recording are as dry as possible, allowing you to add effects and treatments for specific applications as needed. Ready for use on Mac and Windows platforms, the files are in WAV format at 24-bit / 96 kHz resolution.

A: ELC 500 Has a 5/8 receiver and the Mola Demi should work

A: The Nomad is only capable of 400w sustained. You would not be able to use the 500w bulbs the Chimera is capable of.

Q: 3. What is the diameter at its widest point?

A: The widest diameter on the tubing 1 5/16”, then 1 3/16” and the smallest is 1”. The widest part of the boom is the mounting base at 5 3/16”.

Q: 4. Can someone tell me if this is the black version of the boom?

A: The Matthews Baby Boom BH #MABBM is a chrome steel boom.

Q: 5. What kind of combo kit or stand would I need to hold a beauty dish? Looking for good, solid quality but not seeking to spends over $300.

A: This C-Boom Clamp is only for 1-1/4" and 1-1/5" pipes.

A: You can contact the matthews Parts Store at (p) 818-843-6715. I went through their parts catalog could find the part you are looking for.

Q: 8. What is the closed length?

A: Closed length is 45

Q: 9. Can I remove the part that swivels and attaches to the light stand? I am just looking for a heavy duty extending pole

A: You can certainly remove that casting but we also manufacture the Steady Rest PN:B386032 which is a 2 section riser with a range of 28” to 70” with the ability to support a 90lbs load. It is also around half the price of the boom.

Q: 10. Can the stud be removed? or do I need an adapter to attach a tripod head?

A: NO, the stud really cant be removed. It's basically a C-Stand without the base.

[Download] At 7 feet full extension this boom ticks all my boxes. Well made and super strong. I do wish it came with the 5/8 hook for hanging a counter weight but this is a minor thing. Just buy the Matthews it's the best in class from a quality company. 5

[Download] Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets. Note that Elite sits somewhere between Chamber and Pro/I orchestra in terms of number of strings. I find that the number of strings in the Pro/I orchestra is enough that you lose some of that sense of 'bow on string'. With Elite you still hear some of that 'bow on the string'. Layering Elite on Pro is also really useful. 5

[Download] Albums are really very lovely. I like them and will use them. I would have liked to have an option to also have full page self-adhesive pages. I cannot find self-adhesive pages to fit these albums and do not want top loading pages. Advise on this would be appreciated. 5

[Download] I use this for general photography, portraits, etc. I use it on a Matthews Hollywood Baby Jr. Triple Riser Stand. So it is incredibly strong and so easy to move around, just makes using the boom that much easier to use. The Matthews Baby Boom gives me the ability to get my lights and softbox up high, or put my light anywhere I need it to achieve the effect I want. The Matthews Baby Boom is very well made, and it has a great finish on all the parts. All the sections are very strong and well made, with rubber buffers between each section or stop. Boom extends to 7' and balances very well on the stand, also the large handles lock down and won't move after that, very nice. The tilt locking handle in the center is big and locks in place with absolutely no slop or play, this is a very nice boom. I really can't think of anything, or any feature that this Boom falls short on, I love it. I decided a while back that I wanted equipment that would last and grow with me, and I wanted to do it right the first time. I am totally impressed and satisfied with Matthews equipment, and the Baby Boom. This item just is extremely nice, I would recommend it to anyone that is looking to add a little more flexibility to their lighting. 5
