A: Sarah,The length of the Baja B4 should fit in the reflective mounting position, however, the bulb will be close to the umbrella fabric and thus have a limited spread across the silver surface. As an alternative, I would suggest one of the Deep White Umbrellas and a spill kill reflector as an alternative to the Orb for your Baja.

A: No, it doesn't. Which I find very annoying while carrying it. Considering the price of the product it would be nice to have a storage bag.

Q: 3. What is the actual size of this octobox ? PLEASE PLEASE do not tell me the same bald faced lie westcott does, which is 43 inches. Westcott 7 foot umbrellas are barely 5 ft tall. Yes, the Westcott 7 foot umbrella is the same size as my 60 impact softbox or my 60 inch Photoflex umbrella. Softboxes are measured across the FACE not the much larger diameter measurement that Westcott uses. I'm trying to find out if this box is larger than my 36 Photoflex octobox. What is the actual face size ?

Q: 4. Is it compatible with a Nikon SB-700 flash?

A: It should be no problem. I have this and use Canon flashes, but they attack to an adjustable cold shoe. Should work with any flash that could attach to a hot shoe.This is a great softbox that sets up really easily.

Q: 5. What is the size of the shaft on the umbrella?

A: The diameter is the same standard size of any umbrella. The total length is 15 1/2 inches. It doesn't reach out as far as the diffuser panel.

A: The softbox will work with the FJ400, the box mounts using the umbrella mount.

A: Well if you buy this kit, and you said you have the flash, the only additional thing obviously that you're going to need it is the Canon ST-E3-RT Speedlite Transmitter to shoot the, other than the kit comes complete.

Q: 9. What is the best way to use the 300WS westcott strobelight with this umbrella? I am finding that the tilt is virtually impossible to use with a strobelight.

A: Get the Manfrotto Magic Arm. My gear is a collection of multipurpose tools, and the Magic Arm is one of the most useful in my toolbox. I've been using it to extend the tilt angle of the Apollo Orb. You'll need a weight on a leg of the lightstand to counter-balance the tilted Orb.

Q: 10. Does it work well with a monopod ?

A: The Orb should work well mounted on a monopod as a boom arm. [Yes] BEFORE THE ORB.I NEEDED TO PURCHASE VERY PRICY SOFTBOXES FOR MY ELINCHROME SYSTEM.I NEEDED TO FIND ROOM IN MY VEHICLE TO STORE THEM AND I NEEDED TIME TO PUT THEM TOGETHER. NO LONGER !!! I USE MY PHOTOGENIC MONOLIGHTS INSTEAD WITH GOOD REASON. THE ORB FOLDS DOWN TO A REGULAR UMBRELLA!! BUT MOST IMPORTANT IS THAT IT PRODUCES BRILLIANT LIGHT. THE COLOR IS JUST WHAT I LOOK FOR IN A STROBE/SOFTBOX SETUP. ALSO THE PRICE IS RIGHT. 5

[500 W] I use my Apollo Orb for portriats in my studio. I looked into several other softbox products, but found what I wanted and needed with the Orb. I like the round catchlights, similar to that of an umbrella, without the obvious spines reflecting in the catchlights. I get beautiful, smooth light to dark transitions in my portraits. I felt a little clumsy at first, trying to setup and move the Orb on its stand, but like any equipment, it takes some time to get comfortable using it. 5

[4.59 lb] Glad to see Westcott add a new "Shape" to the Apollo Line. Sets up the same as the other Apollo products. The new slimmer longer softbox (12"x36") allows more precise control with the included 40 degree Grid. My first Apollo was the 28" Medium Kit I purchased at B&H at the recommendation by Syl Arena who was presenting at the Event Space in the Fall of 2012. As I was one of the first to invest in the Canon 600 EX-RT, ST E3-RT system, and reading his Speedliter's Handbook, the Apollo Medium peaked my interest. Loved it from Day One. And with Radio Communication, no need for a cord or E-TTL cord as Built in Radio was included. Soon after the Apollo 16x30 Grid, Orb, Mega and the Halo have found a place in my Work space. As you may have noticed, this Greek loves the Apollo lineup. 5
